Ha..ha.. Yes I bought a Sonoma and found out I only have "one" bag!. I just love switching the straps to make a color pop ( tassels and hangtags too) In the purse I posted I have a brown, red, and black. So basically I can have 6, even 9 bags out of 3! That black bag can go with red, brown, or black strap and hangtags and bingo- what a deal! Several styles can do that too. I love swingbacks and I can even change a handbag to a swingbacks with some styles AND a handbag when ever I want to change styles. The beauty of Coach styles is awesome to usefulness and class!
Cool that you can create new looks & uses just by changing out the straps.
The 9566s you posted are beautiful.

Coach really is awesome, such wonderful craftsmanship; and the leather they used from 1990 - 2000 is amazing.
Time to build more shelves!

So my saddle bag is not rehabbing as well as I would have hoped. It still has a wonky color and there were ink stains in the bag that bled through to the outside. I tried everything to remove, with no luck.

Anyone have any luck deglazing (or stripping) color and then re-dying? I have deglazer on hand, I also see on some leather care boards that people have had luck with lemon juice. What dye do you use? I may finish with acrylic resolene.

Post Pouch might be my favorite small cross body. I have had one for years, found a deal on a second one in a different color on ebay and grabbed it. They are hard to find, if only because no one knows what they are called so it's hard to search for them.

And I think I like my Logan better than my Willis(s) too.

I see what you mean! I just scrolled through a few thousand eBay listings for "vintage Coach leather" and found exactly one Post Pouch, listed as a "Vintage Coach Small Black Leather Bag." I'm going to look for a better deal, preferably in some shade of brown and in need of a little TLC.

UPDATE:

I finally found my Post Pouch, a black one. What a sweet little bag -- well worth the wait!

Seems like she didn't get used much. She's missing her hang tag, so I made a little tassel for her.

I haven't had much luck with dye on classic or vintage bags. I would like to try RIT color stripper on ink.

Languedocienne, what color bag are you wanting to dye over? This is dye I have used on darker colors and red. To dye large areas ( then with the little dabbler that comes with it) I have used throw away foam brushes. Again, I will mention using Eco-flo over any areas that you use dye or paint over helps seal it.

catbird, I love that tassel too! How did you make it? Very classy.

Thank you!

I found instructions online for making a tassel:
http://honestlywtf.com/diy/diy-tassel-bag-charm/

For mine, I cut fringe on a scrap of black semi-stiff suede for the tassel, and used black suede lacing for the loop. I threaded the lacing through a small trigger snap hook (donated from a broken wristlet strap), added a "Pandora" style faceted glass bead and a carved ebony bead, and then glued and rolled the tassel. Finished with a spare ball chain from my parts collection (I save everything!)
