Quick opinion please:
Has anyone ever received a bag where the part of strap with the buckle (the straps that look like a belt buckle. For example, the type of strap on a city bag) was attached was backwards? It's this bag link

Is this reason for SNAD on ebay? She didn't mention it in the listing and of the 5 pictures of the bag showing the strap, 4 of them showed the strap curled around the bag so you couldn't tell. I noticed it in the last picture only after I knew exactly what I was looking for.
I'm pretty sure there is a break in the ring where you can slide the strap off and put it back on the right way.

I found this little video while looking for something else...thought it might be useful for your vachetta question. Sacsmagnifiques demonstrates how to remove a denim transfer from vachetta using magic eraser and acetone.

http://www.sacsmagnifiques.com/2014/12/how-to-denim-transfer-removal-from.html

I think I usually do the whole bag. Vinegar doesn't stain it like water would, and it won't darken, which makes it ideal for vachetta.

Thank you ladies for you advice. The video shows amazing results, but I do not have some of the supplies. I will let you know how this works out, although I am not sure when I will get to it, the "crazy" season is starting, LOL

I don't think it would qualify for SNAD because it is shown in the pictures, which are considered part of the description. I must say that's pretty sneaky of the seller not to mention it. Sure, you can see it in the picture if you're looking for it, but it really should be mentioned in the description.

I agree with whateve, there is probably a break in the ring. You might need one of these, or help from a cobbler to get it open.

Washing a burgundy Courier and what looks to be a dark brown (can't tell just yet) large rambler. The bottom lining of my rambler was lifting up so I ripped it out and will either attempt to re glue it myself, or take it to a cobbler to have it fixed along with the strap. Anyone ever have water this dark?! It's almost black. I'm new to this so any suggestions are appreciated!

Here are the ladies stuffed and drying. I was hoping that soaking the bags would get rid of most of the smells, but the rambler stinks! I can't tell if it's cigarettes or what. Any success stories on how to de-stink a bag?

I know what it worked for me with a terrible smoke smell. As suggested by one of the experts here I used ODO BAN, (found at Walmart). I sprayed the bag a couple times, and while drying I had it hanging outdoors. It took the smell away and didn't leave any stains on the bag, that was brown leather. :smile1:

Wow, beautiful bags!

Hanging them outside might help. (Does the Courier Pouch smell too, from being soaked in the same bath as the Rambler, I wonder?)

The odor might go away as it dries, just from evaporation.

One method I've used:

1. Put the purse (after it's completely dry) inside a zip-around plastic bag (those big ones that come with bedspreads or blankets)
2. Put several small bowls of baking soda in there with it
3. Zip it up and set it in a warm place
4. Change the baking soda every day or so
5. May take several days or longer to get rid of the smell

Good luck, and thanks for sharing your pics!

Help, experts! Somehow my ginger color block swagger got scuffed. The shiny ginger colored leather came off in two places leaving lighter orange, raw leather underneath. In one spot, it's sort of peeled and I'm wondering how to sort of "glue" it back down. Leather conditioner makes it look better... Until it dries. I would post a picture if I knew how. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I had a leather jacket that smelled of cigarette smoke. I tried lots of things, but only dry cleaning ($$$) got rid of the smell.

Thanks whateve, Catbird9. You were totally right. It was a tight fit but I managed to get it turned around the right way:ty:
