Just wanted to share a before and after of two of my most rehabs. The first is a Burgundy Courier that was already in great shape, but I wanted it to be even better

My second is a large Rambler that is the new love of my life. She'll be complete when I get her strap back from the cobbler tomorrow.

Sorry for the poor picture quality on my part...I hope you love them as much as I do!

Very nice job!

Great job! No one would have guessed you were a rookie :smile1:

Soaked both in lukewarm water with baby shampoo for 30 minutes and gently scrubbed them with a baby brush. Then I put them in a cool water bath with no soap for 10 minutes. I stuffed them both and rotated them as they dried. While they were still damp I started applying leather restorer and conditioner once every 24 hours for 3 days. I removed the hardware and polished it with Never Dull. Today I applied Blackrocks and buffed it with a horsehair brush and put the hardware back on. These are actually the first two bags I've done, but I've been reading up on it/asking advice for a long time. It's such a fun hobby!

Looks like the time you spent gathering tips and info paid off! Great job, beautiful rehabs! ;)

Wow! So gorgeous! Nice work!!

Can anyone suggest a way to rehab the corners of a Coach borough bag in the napa leather? It is the earth color. I won in on evilbay for a decent price and it's in great shape except 2 of the corners are pretty much rubbed through. Is there an edgecoat or filling I can put on the reduce the fuzziness? I just rubbed some blackrocks on it, which I'm hoping is going to lighten up from the really dark dirt color it is right now.....help!

My apologies because I know this issue has been covered, but I went through my notes and can not find it, and here in search I couldn't find the answer I need either.

I just washed a suede and leather bag I believe it's called a Stitch Hobo, 9476. Strap, side and bottom in leather and rest in suede. I have it drying and I "kinda" remember something on the lines of keep brushing till it drys, or perhaps not to brush till it drys...

Help! And TIA :smile1:

Brush it when it is almost dry. I use a nail brush. It is stiffer than my leather brush.

Hello everyone! I recently found a Legacy Ali Shoulder Bag for $15.00. It does need a little TLC, which is shown in the pictures below.

1. How would I remove these ink stains from the Legacy lining without ruining the silk?
2. Does this bag need a dye job? If so, how would I go about doing this?
3. How to clean the brass hardware?
4. The leather is wrinkling in certain sections of the purse. How could I fix this?

Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks for reading!

The lining is polyester, not silk. You can clean the ink with acetone or alcohol, or Amodex ink remover. You can wash the lining with soap and water if necessary.

I haven't had much luck polishing brass on Legacy bags - I believe the layer of brass is rather thin so if you try to polish it, you could make it worse. I'd just try soaking it in vinegar, or very gently wiping with Wenol.

You can probably wash the entire bag. I don't know how well the leather will come out. The color could be worn away. I'd wash it first and then decide if it needed dyeing. It might only need spot touch-ups. Ledobe has dyed a Legacy bag. If you search through this thread for Legacy posted by Ledobe, you will probably find several of her Legacy rehabs.

I doubt there is much you can do for the wrinkles. Leather softens and wrinkles as it ages.

Thank you for the insight! I went after the ink spots with soap and warm water and it's doing the job just fine. As for the exterior of the purse, what do you think those dark spots are?
