Why thank you! Your photo is a much better representation of this beautiful green color than my photos. Looking forward to seeing your finished bag! Happy rehabbing!

She's in the bath water now, taking a nice soak. Hopefully she will dry before next year! It's humid here and this baby has some THICK leather! [emoji23] [emoji370][emoji162][emoji371]

She's done with the bath (you should've seen it...brown, gross and yuck). Now stuffed and dripping dry. It's interesting, she looks almost black when wet!

I love the racing green Nomad sooooo much that I hope she's a little lighter when she's done than she was before I started. We can always wish, right?? [emoji39]

Yes, it is some thick leather & those pockets did take awhile to dry! I thought mine got a bit darker after rehab (maybe from the re-conditioning).

I've been admiring all the pretty green new reveals lately & was very excited to finally find a vintage green bag. I'd been keeping my eye out for one! :)

BTW, did you get green fingers in the process? One of my hands did! ;)

I was excited for a green one too! I was in the Coach store today admiring the new bags and Lord knows, I could not afford one. I guess that's why He sent me this one, lol!!

No green fingers but I haven't conditioned her yet and scrubbed gently with a bamboo brush while she was in the bath. I have to wear rubber gloves while conditioning or the Leather CPR gives me hot flashes, believe it or not. I have lupus so not sure if something in it reacts with my system or if I just get really, really vigorous with the process, haha!

:) You're too funny!

How's the rehab coming along? I haven't used my bag yet.... Maybe today!

Thanks for asking! She got a second coat of Leather CPR today and drank it in like crazy. I'm thinking I'll do maybe two more coats and then a coat of Black Rock.

After she dried, I was sad to see a spot of black ink on the side and lots of small nicks here and there. I'm wondering if someone had slathered on a coat of shoe polish at some point to hide some imperfections. Could explain the gross and nasty bath water..... I'm ready to get her finished and for fall so I can take her out for a spin. The color is soooooo good!

Did you carry yours today?

I did carry my lovely green Patricia's Legacy today! The leather came out so super soft, outside & in! It's wonderful to the touch. :) I didn't use Blackrock on this one after the Leather CPR. It didn't seem to need it. Mine also has some ink spots but not too noticeable so I'm content.

lol, hot flashes! I wear rubber gloves when using CPR too because I have to avoid skin contact with plant products. Maybe it contains soy - isn't that supposed to affect estrogen?

A lot of times I see ink I didn't see before the bath. Even on a bag I didn't give a bath, I found a bunch of tiny ink marks when I was done conditioning. I think if it had been treated with shoe polish you would have had to do a lot of scrubbing to remove it, and that is more likely with black bags.

She's all done!

Had to use a razor and shave the underside of the flap. Not sure what caused the white stringy looking things.

Can't wait for Fall to carry this smushy bit of goodness!!

I was asking advice about how to repair a slit in signature fabric, but I decided to return the bag. I don't like that much as to go through the trouble of fixing it, plus cleaning, reconditioning, etc...

Thanks!

Nice work! I carried mine again today. I don't always pay attention to seasonal colors especially when it comes to a new-to-me bag.

Anymore currently in your rehab pile? ;)

I don't think there's sealant.

If red would cover and mask pink, that would work perfectly.

Nope, not signature. Leather collar (and leash).

Thank you both for replying.

It's all leather (with pink enameled heart rivet charms that I can live with) and the edges don't appear to have sealant.
The collar:

This is the leash (which I might not use):

I didn't want to be rude and not post my update but it's not a happy one!

Now I know why I either buy new or live with what I find in the condition in which I find it!

I wouldn't have been bothered by the fading and condition of the collar (and leash) had my puppy been female but it didn't work for my little boy.

I decided to buy red Rit liquid and used it full strength letting it soak overnight. (I only tried to dye the collar; the leash is still the original color.)

Once the excess was rinsed and the water ran clear, I dried it, hoping I'd have a nice redder-than-it-looked collar.

The result was awful! The collar is still pink but now a slightly redder pink than it was, no longer matching the leash. And the leather seems to have absorbed the color unevenly, with some areas slightly pinker or redder than others.

Bottom line, I'm giving up and found another pre-owned BLACK collar! (And now the pink collar and pink leash aren't perfect matches to each other.)

I do appreciate the advice I received but rehab isn't my thing.

I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. IMHO, some rehabs are just a crap shoot to begin with.
