Aw geez! So I'm picking a difficult job for my (probably) one and only attempt?!?!?
Yes you are! I did for my first rehab and it still isn't fixed. I haven't given up yet though. My trick for rehabbing is to get things really cheap so if they don't turn out, I won't be too upset. I have had plenty of successful rehabs that encourage me to keep trying.

Well, we'll see how this comes out. Since I'm just doing this for my own use (well, the pup's use), I don't mind that it might not look perfect.

Now I know why I sell bags but don't rehab them first! I let the buyer do it.

Thank you again for this information.

You guys are probably laughing because I'm thinking this all sounds like so much work! I think I'll go the Rit dye route and will condition it with leather CPR. (Is that okay?)

I might just take off the dangling heart charm and will replace it with a white dog bone charm that's on another collar. I'll leave the riveted heasts.

I admire you all for all the work you do on bags. Doing just this one collar and possibly the leash seems overwhelming to me!

I'll try to post pictures when I get it done.

I'm with you...going the easy route is what I'd do also. It's just a dog collar and maybe the leash. You may be pleasantly surprised...who knows? ;)

Quick question... Has anyone tried moisturizing saffiano/crossgrain bags? The merlot Nancy I bought has some scuff marks where the previous owner was apparently putting keys in the front pocket. Trying to figure out how to minimize their appearance. Thanks!

Does the coach vachetta leather darken like LV Leather? I recently got this rehab project and hate the light leather color. I've patinaed LV leather before with olive oil and immediately you can see results, I tried with this bag however and can't tell any difference at all.

Some older vachetta bags do. I had a similar bag and I didn't want it to darken so I sprayed with Shining Monkey. It never darkened and then I sold it so I don't know if it ever did. If it isn't darkening than it must not be real vachetta. Maybe it is just vachetta color.

It's really hard to tell from the photos provided and without knowing what caused the marks. Are you talking about the marks inside the bag or are there others outside that I can't see?

Thanks for responding and taking a look. There's a pen mark inside and the seller states some make up spots possibly around the handle area and a black mark on the bottom of the bag left side.

Would any of you mind taking a look at this listing and help me determine if the flaws and marks are treatable?

Most likely they won't wash out. The pen mark is permanent. There is a scrape on the bottom. If you look at the picture of the bottom, what is that darker green patch on the right side?
