Just a quick question for the veterans on this forum. Is there a designated thread to have a Fossil purse authenticated? I have done a search, but I only found comments on multiple treads. (Sorry if I missed it)

I have no clue about this brand, it is a nice leather purse part of a lot I won that included a Coach of course ;)
I buy a lot of Fossils as they sell well here. I've been told that because Fossil isn't a high end designer brand, they aren't faked, and if they are, they are very cheap looking fakes and you can tell immediately by looking at them. Fossils are well made.

I've never seen a fake Fossil. If you can't get an answer on TPF, the ebay Fashion Discussion Board may be able to help. That's where I got this info from.

I haven't seen a fake one either. I think the price point in general is lower than most designers and they're also not as high in demand as Coach, Kate Spade, etc. I also think that because Fossil has quite a few companies under their umbrella at an even lower price point and in big box stores (Relic accessories are in pretty much any department store.) Sure Kate Spade has Saturday, but they're basically phasing it back into "regular" Kate Spade stores.

Another non-rehab question-- anyone know if the Coach special invite discount cards can be given to a friend? I just got one in the mail and won't use it so thought I might offer it to someone here :smile1:

I don't see why not. I'm sure they'd appreciate bringing more people into the Cult Of the Atomic Coach Horse :amuse:
There is a section of the forum to share your code here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-pc...nyone-knows-when-810728-115.html#post28230121

It's usually best to say you have a code and let people PM you for it; otherwise someone who isn't a member could take it.

The codes aren't transferable but they usually work if you use them for an online order. I don't think your friend can carry the card into a store and use it.

Thank you ladies for your help and patience. Very helpful information that I plan to use. I am not sure yet if I want to keep the purse or try to sell it. The leather is wonderful and doesn't need much of the rehab.

Should I condition the whole purse then apply paint mixture where needed then condition again or apply paint mixture, let dry then condition whole purse?

It looks a lot better then it did

I would pull the lining out and clean out the lint. If it doesn't pull out then use a vacuum cleaner. Then tackle the marker ink stains with alcohol. Others have had good results from using Soilove on linings which may also remove ink. I can't get it here so I just wash mine with dish detergent and scrub stains with a nail brush. I would dunk this bag in warm water with dish liquid and try to remove the white marks by rubbing with a terry toweling cloth. Stuff it and re-shape it and let it dry then condition with CPR or Leather Therapy. If the white marks haven't come off, try removing them with a tiny amount of acetone on a Q-tip. If that doesn't work then you'll need to cover them with a mixture of black acrylic paint mixed with conditioner. You can also use this to cover the areas where the colour has worn off. Dab it on with your finger or a Q-tip.

I'm not familiar with this style so whateve may be able to recommend the best way to treat the brass turn lock. If it was a vintage bag I'd be using steel wool but that may not be suitable for this one.

Apply another coat of conditioner, leave for 24 hours and buff then apply a coat of Black Rock.

Thanks Whateve! Some lucky girl is going to use my code and the world is a slightly better place!
