I have, but mine was mahogany. It didn't bleed on the lining. Yours looks pretty faded. I think you'll be alright.

That thing feels like butter, I'll tell you that. I'll add it to the Patricia and Court bags I have to dunk. My last pile all turned out great! I never would have known you could even DO that had I not found this forum. Between this and the Robert Durst case, I LOVE the internet! :D

Yes the leather is wonderful on these skinny cases. The chunky ones use thick leather like for bags but the skinnies have leather like gloves.

So long story short I just wrote up a quick and dirty guide on rehabbing on eBay. I'd love to get your feedback on it :) I thought it would be easier to have a link to direct people to along with links and pictures of products we've discussed rather than combing through the boards.
Good job! You might want to add that removing turn locks is quite easy and enables you to clean any verdigris from underneath. Also that its a good idea to avoid conditioners that contain silicone because it rots the stitching. Also avoid saddle soap because its nearly impossible to totally rinse it off.

I read your "Quick and Dirty Guide..." And I like it. I am a beginner and didn't know a couple of things such as cleaning an unlined bag is easier. I like that you told us beginners to soak for at least 20 min. Good job on the writing. I will post my unsuccessful rehab story in a few days.

Good idea! I'll add that this afternoon :smile1:

Yay! Glad that helps :smile1: We love helping beginners, and like I said this is for the bare minimum easiest of rehabs. I've done lined bags before and it was successful, but it's easier with some bags than with others. The one I did had black satin lining but there are bags with tattersall lining which is almost a plaid on a white background which naturally you have to be SUPER careful with.

good article - any suggestions on the nickle buckles that are somewhat mottled?
Pictures would help with a recommendation :smile1:

This is a more recent bag. I don't know if there is anything you can do. You could try polishing with a metal cream, but it might get worse if the mottling is caused by some of the exterior coating being removed. I suspect that whatever they used to plate the metal in more recent bags is thinner and might wear quicker. However, none of my recent bags with silver hardware have this problem. I wonder if it was caused by damp weather.

I washed a magenta Bleecker Duffel with Tatersall lining with no problems. Sonomas and Sheridans too.

Is it possible to remove the water stain from this bag, or at least make it less noticeable? I'm a complete beginner when it comes to rehabbing Coach bags and have absolutely no clue what to do. I absolutely love the color of this bag and would like to purchase it; however, only if the water stain can be fixed in someway.

If it is water it might come out if you soak it. There are some other marks as well and the colour has come off the piping in some places. I had a Lunchbox Tote in that colour. It is hard to cover up marks on the bag itself but a bit easier to colour the piping with acrylic paint mixed with conditioner.

Over on the facebook group somebody found a maroon bleecker with tattersall lining that was pink tinted. One can only assume what happened, but I'm guessing it involves dunking it in water.
There was a 2012 fuchsia duffle with pink tinted lining. That makes me afraid to wash a new bag. I thought the dyes would be more colorfast on newer bags. It may only happen if the person didn't pull out the lining to let it dry.
