You are unlikely to be able to totally remove the marks.

I am happy to report that all of the faint red color transfer spots that spot treatments of rubbing alcohol and the Magic Eraser couldn't remove wiped off after the initial acrylic paint and conditioner mix spot treatment. Unfortunately, these spots are now darker than the rest of the bag, leading me to believe I removed too much of the original finish with my n00b atempts at spot removal. I am hoping they will blend in as the final coat of conditioner dries. Is this usually the case?

Well, here is my once camel colored lunch tote.

As you can see, ( sigh )- the color is uneven. Will apply a 3rd coat, clean the brass ( really, looks silver, but not )--

And hope for the best.

Recall that someone posted bag will not absorb conditioner after paint?

Am planning to hit it with obernauf liquid after final coat. Maybe i should soak the poor bag in it. If that doesn't penetrate, nothing will.

If i ever am tempted to paint another whole bag ( not touch-ups )--will look at this and remember. :nogood: Poor bag.

If you've got a lot of time on your hands, and you really want something to do, you could strip it all off with acetone!

This is where I got mine. I have no idea if that's a good price; I didn't check. I'm too impatient to wait for shipping. :p

Get the one for household use not equestrian or motorcycle leather.

Oh boy! I just bought one and mine is different from these two.

I didn't have this product on my rehab supplies, I was happy with the Leather CPR, Blackrocks and Obenauf's. When one of you nice ladies mentioned long ago, that we could request a sample of Leather Therapy I did. I got a little pouch that I had not open for months, but I decided to try on a very faded bag, because I read that it darkens leather a bit, so I did and the results were amazing! So I ordered a bottle of the same kind of the sample. Now I see it's not the one Two.time.bags recommends (ans she is the expert), I went to look for this one to perhaps return mine, but I can not find it, may be they changed the labels? May be I missed it...

I really like the results on my experimental bag, I only plan on using it on very faded bags, could the one I have work or be harmful..?

Most likely. The label on the bottle I ordered from Amazon doesn't look exactly like the one Two.Time posted, but it's pretty close. It's still called Leather Therapy restorer and conditioner.

I have a bag I ruined with paint. I've worked on it a bunch and the paint hasn't budged.

I got the free sample too, and it didn't do a thing for me (or my bags)! :roflmfao: So I assumed the reason it didn't work was because I got the wrong stuff, but I never got around to ordering the other stuff.

Oops! I didn't realize there was a non-equestrian version. What's the difference?

Maybe the stuff I get has a different label because its imported? I get it from a saddlery and leather place here. It's the only product I don't have to order from the US myself.

If the label says it can be used on purse leather it should be fine. I don't know what the differences in ingredients are between the three types but I'm assuming the others might contain something different or in different proportions. If it works for you use it!

On a different but related topic, don't ever buy Black Rock from tackupmichigan. On Feb 5 I bought two tubs from them to ship to my freight forwarding friend in Florida, and it's only just arrived after lots of BS and a refund that bounced and no communication then ebay stepping in. Then they invoice me again with no communication or apology or anything! Of course I paid because I'm honest but I'm so p'eed off. They get the sale and don't have to pay a FVF.

Oh, dear. Oh my. You mean it---it doesn't---look natural????:rain:

Am crushed. And here i thought we were tpf friends. TTB, how could you?????:roflmfao:
If it looks anything like the ivory Soft Satchel I stuffed up when I first started rehabbing, then sorry lonesome, but no! Actually I had a big clean out the other day and came across that poor Soft Satchel and I salvaged the zipper, strap rings and pockets and binned the rest! I felt really bad about it but it was a real mess when I bought it with splatter marks that wouldn't come off. Then I sanded it and conditioned it and it looked even worse so I painted it and within a few hours the paint was peeling off so it's been in the too hard cupboard for quite a while.

Sigh.

No, alas, it doesn't look natural at all! No more dying bags for me. But, it's still a nice bag.

Will keep it to remind me never to do it again.

It can be a holder for electronic accessories.

Sigh.
