I tried to remove ink from a pocket in a Soho Buckle Bag. It took ages and half a bottle of methylated spirits. It did fade it but I couldn't remove all of it and ended up covering what was left with paint.

Looks great in the picture. Paint does wonders.

You should try to remove as much as you can so it doesn't bleed in the bath.

OK, I will plan on that first then. Thanks!

This post has been a long time coming but I bought this court bag off ebay a long time ago and fixed her up - though she was pretty clean to begin with!

She's my go-to bag and has been with me to so many places and seen so many things!

Thanks to all these wonderful ladies here who have helped me acquire and clean up my baby. She's been in my possession for two years now (yes these pictures are old!)

Hi rehabbers,
I got this #9945 bone Sterling clutch for a song at the local thrift--quite dingy so I put it right in the bath. Ivory liquid and a scrub. It doesn't seem to have cleaned up very well; you can see wear on the edges and underneath the clasp. Also it seemed to smell worse after the bath.
Perhaps the worn spots will look better once dry. This is the first time I've rehabbed a light-colored leather so I'm not sure if just conditioning (Leather CPR/Blackrocks) will mask the smudges or if you have other suggestions like using Meltonian cream or something.
Also, I sprayed her pretty thoroughly while wet with Febreeze but I'm not sure if that will be enough for the smell.
She is awfully cute so I'd like to get it into wearable condition!

Thanks so much!

Can you describe the smell at all? If its musty like a wet basement, it could be an indicator of mold. I've been dealing with a musty smell on a single bag for a month and a half, and can tell you it is NOT easy to work with but I think I'm finally starting to win the battle.

It is a musty smell; more like the old-storage smell rather than wet basement. Curious, however, what treatment have you been using?
Thanks!

Bone and white are not easy to rehab. The scratches and scuffs will show up worse while its still wet but should fade a little when dry. Acrylic paint mixed with a little conditioner should help on the piping but it's hard to cover marks like that one under the snap. I guess you could try Meltonian.
