I was too. I remember you warning me against the pink bleeding. I actually sprinkled salt on the pink suede, thinking it might 'set' the dye, but I didn't do it on the metallic leather. Not sure if the salt had anything to do with the pink not bleeding. Thanks for the vote of confidence. If I can't clean off the dye it will become my new gym bag! :D:
Lol that will be one fancy gym bag:p

Well, after a long hiatus, and not much buying (that was a lie) I found this precious green Hailey that needs some TLC in the way of removing many black marks. Alcohol and a little fingernail scraping seems to be the best choice so far, but it is going to take some time. A LOT of time. But for $28, and otherwise mint in and out I think she's worth it. I'm actually quite taken with the color, which is more green than this picture. Might have a keeper!

beautiful bag! It is one of my favorites. The color is called jade. These usually sell for over $100 in good condition. Be careful with the alcohol as it could remove the shine.

What a great way to get motivated to go to the gym!

Just finished a navy Willis this morning :smile1: Thankfully it didn't need much work! (It's on the right in the first picture)

Has anyone ever tried rehabbing a sheridan? I'm eyeing one that seems like its in pretty good shape, and was wondering how rehabbing it would be. Is it something that would benefit from dunking or should it be avoided since it seems to be all weather leather like Dooney bags? Or would it just be easier to do some spot cleaning and conditioning with some Leather CPR?

I've rehabbed four or five Sheridans using the same approach as usual and I'm working on a Roswell at the moment. I find the lining is not as easy to clean as other lined Coach bags. I really don't like the material they used. Other than that they came up fine. The dunking helps with re-shaping. The conditioner doesn't get absorbed as quickly so you don't need so much. It's quite easy to touch up scuffs with acrylic paint. I just painted it on then wiped it off and the scuffed areas had absorbed the colour. The hardware can't be removed but it polishes up really nicely with steel wool. Here's a few I did a while ago.

I picked this bag up for $5 so even though I know it has issues I figured what the heck. I need help on fixing a spot that is torn where the buckle and back of the bag meet. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Trim off the fringes. If the leather can stretch to cover the spot, then you can do that and just sew it back into place, using the original holes to poke your needle through. I know Two.time.bags did something similar. I think she might have removed some stitches in order to have a larger area to stretch over. If it is impossible to stretch, you can find a small piece of leather to attach.

ETA: what does it say on the white tag?

Awesome! Thanks, Two.Time! So I guess just bath, reshape and condition? No need for blackrocks or obenaufs? From the pictures it looks like it might need some reshaping, but I'm hoping this one will be a quick and easy rehab. Its the one I posted over on the authentication page earlier today. In case you missed it I don't know how I managed to remember it in the last 30 seconds of the auction. I had the page up in my browser and just happened to switch over to it, bid twice and won in the last 10 seconds.
