Well, live and learn. Came across one a few months ago on ebay. Seller wanted too much for it. She wanted $65.00 and countered my offer with $60. Then there was another one a few months later. Not in as good shape. :smash: Really like the style.
I've done stupid things like that too! Now that we've stirred up interest for this style, it's going to be harder to find one at a good price. I hope we don't end up bidding against each other!

Wish I'd sold my Duffle sooner. There was a black 11420 at $180 BIN by a Japanese seller this week too with free shipping. Oh well I'm happy to wait. I don't 'need' it until winter anyway.

I like how you put the word "need" in quotation marks!
I am actually starting to sell some bags (4 so far), which does help fill in the "need" list!

Not long ago I only 'needed' a bag for summer and a bag for winter. Then I discovered Coach and Brahmin and TPF, and now it seems I 'need' a lot more! And that doesn't include the vintage Coach bags that I buy to rehab and add to my personal collection, most of which I don't use but just admire. :shame:

Thanks. Good luck with your etsy store. The buying and rehabbing is the fun bit, I find the listing part tedious.
Definitely. I'm trying to list everything I know about each bag so there are NO surprises when somebody buys a bag...but I'm starting to rethink that. It's taking way too much time, but maybe it'll be worth it to prevent returns?

How exciting! It will go faster once you get the hang of it. Took me hours and hours to get my first listing right. Good luck with your new "shop!"

Yes, list everything. I sell a lot on ebay, (lots of things, not just bags). If you do not accurately detail the condition of your item, the buyer can file a "Not as described" case against you, and you will have to refund their money, shipping, AND pay return shipping. It will count as a defect against your account, and if you get enough of them, you can be blocked from selling on ebay. You don't want that.

That being said, you do not have to list out every tiny scratch or mark. It's ok to say things like "There is generalized scuffing and scratching to the leather, especially on the corners"), and then provide a picture of the corners. I list the BIG issues, (cracks, chips, stains, pen marks, rips, odors, etc), and make a general statement concerning condition and that the item is pre-owned/used/has signs of prior ownership/however you want to phrase it.

Yep. Same here. Trying to keep my personal collection of vintage under control. So far, just sticking with Coach. So far!

I remember those days! I didn't even have a separate bag for winter and one for summer. I just used a bag until it started looking shabby and then bought another. I didn't care what it looked like as long as it was functional.

Is there some reason you have to list every bag at the same time? I think it might be better to start small so you can learn as you go along.

It is harder on etsy to show all the flaws since you are limited to 5 pictures.

Same here. Usually the bag became less functional for some reason, and then it was time to search for the next one. I miss Dillard's. They had awesome sales on their purses. No Dillard's in Washington!

No, but they recommend having at least 10 items in stock to start with. So it's just getting over that speed bump of rehabbing 10 bags (I'm most of the way there at the moment) then writing descriptions for each one. I'm not going into stuff like "there's a small scratch on the turnlock" but on one bag there's a small gash under the creed which I'm definitely listing. Since I started taking pictures too I bought some super fine steel wool and its really helped on the brass fixtures since some of them were looking gross and Brasso didn't do much to help. So now I have to take new pictures of some bags too (sigh.)
