I don't have experience rehabbing bags yet. If I just use a surface cleaner then condition my carrier--maybe steering clear of the ink spot--can I leave the ink removal & soaking bath for later, when I know what I'm doing?

Tried removing/lightening pen marks (lines, not an explosion like in my carrier's pocket) using acetone & alcohol on a $3 yellow swing wallet I found. Soaked, bathed & drying now.
Pen marks are really difficult to remove from leather. Sometimes you can get lucky and if it's the right sort of ink and hasn't been there long, alcohol will remove it.

Of course it's up you what you do with the Carrier. Is it dirty inside? I like to wash my bags because you never know what's been in them

Personally, I don't like the idea of conditioning dirty leather but that's me. Apparently Leather Therapy brings dirt to the surface where it can be wiped off so it claims to act as both cleaner and a conditioner. I only ever use it after washing so I can't verify this.

I don't think you'll be happy with the results. Classic bags always look better after a bath.

But it makes sense you should wait until you are more experienced before you attempt such a difficult rehab. My first rehab was way too hard and was a complete failure!

I've seen that one, as well as a couple of others. But none that I've found are really thorough and specific to Coach issues. Nice step-by-step guides to how someone re-dyed something, how different leathers react to different rehab processes, re-doing edge coating, polishing hardware, cleaning insides, fixing piping, decision-making processes (why do you use one product over another?).

I know many of these things can be found individually, but I'd like to subscribe to a nice place that covers things that would be helpful, but I wasn't necessarily looking for. Multiple posts over months and years of rehabbing...that sort of thing.

LOL So 7,565 posts in this rescue and rehab thread doesn't work for you? I've been reading it page by page for months and months. It's an encyclopedia of information.

That is all here on this thread if you search. You can also ask and post pics about specific issues.

Maybe some of us should make some YouTube clips......hmmm

That is giant! I'm glad I didn't take a chance on one. The small is an okay size for me. The large flap is perfect!

The leather on these is wonderful. The 2006 Legacy is amazing as well but the hardware makes it heavy.

I think that everyone gets those ridiculous offers, even here where Coach has a reputation. Ebayers are usually bargain hunters. Do you list on Ebay.com and ship internationally?
Just sold it to a US buyer! The exchange rate is really bad for me but good for the rest of the world. That bag is a traveller. China to US to Oz back to US!

Even more than that! This thread is a continuation of a previous one, started in 2010!
