OK! Never heard of stuff like this. I see there are a few vendors of leather restorers too, used a lot in car seats apparently. Leather car seats crack a lot so this stuff is probably good.

Has anybody ever tried to replace a swivel snap (lobster clasp at the end of the strap) on a Casino bag?
Casino has a thin strap and the swivel snap is smaller and lighter than the standard ones.
One of my casino clasps has a broken off button that you push down to open it. I have replaced these before but you need the right hardware. The heavy ones won't work. If I can't find an exact match I will replace both clasps. TIA

This bag is done! I made a leather flower for the front where the holes/missing logo were. The back had pen marks (showing a pic). I used leather cream on the back, and I like the outcome! It's a really nice condition bag, actually! I sewed the pocket back up where I had cut it to get into the bag's works. I filled in the holes, with the idea that I would put nothing there and that worked great on hiding the holes!...but the indents where the metal pieces had been were bad. So, I decided to cover it up. I took one of the "shoe flowers" pieces and painted it from white to ivory to match the bag, and an inner black flower and "jewel" center.

I like finding these very inexpensive "something wrong with them" bags, and seeing what I can do. When the investment is so small I have more bravery to experiment.
Have you looked at The Buckle Guy? He has hardware in different sizes. (Posting on the run or I would have searched.)
Hello! Have you ever started a dunk on a bag and realized that the bag had belonged to a smoker (I'm an ex-smoker, so no offense meant)? I add vinegar to the wash water, and then a rinse-soak for 10 minutes with a healthy cap full of Downey Rinse and Refresh. When the bag is dry, it no longer smells like smoke or vinegar. Only a very slight fresh sent for a bit. I don't know if it will work on Cat Urine, but I would give it a try. I also use this product on a damp cloth to wipe out Bags with Mexican Stripe lining that have an old or musty smell because I do not dunk these bags. It hasn't affected the color or texture of the fabric, changed the color or caused any damage to any vintage leather I have used it on. Best of luck!Hi all! I got a Court bag today. Anyway, I must have unlocked decades of cat pee. Stinky! I've searched through this thread for solutions to eliminate the odor. Some posts are from as far back as ten years, so I thought I would ask if there are any newer products or processes to get rid of bad odors, specifically cat urine.
I saw OdorZout, Febreeze, Nature's Miracle, silica packs, and the old standby: white vinegar. Are there others? Thank you!!
This is inspiring. I bought a Bonnie Cashin bag. I had questions about it being recolored but was told we clean our bags before putting them out and nothing came off. I took a chance.
Brought it home to clean with saddle soap and condition it (it was needed) and immediately a ton of color was coming off. Someone had taken a once red bag and made it black with what I assume is shoe polish. 😭
I love the bag so much though that I’m going hardcore to restore it. Just dunked, scrubbed and got a lot more of the color out. Currently drying and stuffed with towels. Hated to do it but wasn’t sure how else to save it and didn’t want the color rubbing off on my clothes.
In a few days I’ll begin with the next steps once it’s dry. Fingers crossed it comes out half as good as yours.
Blazer Bag is done. Had 2 ripped corners.
