Absolutely stunning !!! Can't believe how shiny you get the hardware and how smooth you get these torn corners. Still struggling with the hardware
I think Brasso works great! Just a little blob on a cloth and rub, rub, rub, rub. :) For the rip repairs, I used Angelus repair/filler (more than one application), sandpapered, then topped lightly with some black edgekote (too shiny), and that topped with some black leather dye (to dull the shine).

I got another bag which is supercute, but missing the Coach logo and has holes there. So, either fill the holes, and keep the remaining hardware. Or, remove all hardware and fill all holes. Or, remove logo hardware and cover with a black leather flower in that spot... Still mulling.

You could put 3 flower (or whatever your heart desires) pins since the holes are already there!

Once I remove the other hardware, there will probably be 7 holes. Not sure any pin would fit there unless I remove the other pieces of logo first. I like the idea! Thanks!
Oh I didn't realize the other pieces would get in the way from the back. Yeah remove them all! The monogram already says what bag it is! Can't wait to see what you choose!

I like the pin idea. I'll have to see what sizes fit, most of the pins I've been looking at are pretty big. The entire area of these holes is about 1.5 inches. I'm looking at these pins. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07X4YQBST

  • Used perfectly as women's shirt vest safety buckle button to prevent expose body, as lapel pin, buckle fasten or decoration for dress cardigan shawl scarves. Also looks great to your hat, handbag, just DIY the use.
  • In the unique design of exquisite and partysu flower daisy/chrysanthemum and sunflower design, as if smelling rural breath and sense of young, vigorous and positively.

The emoji pins are 3/4" so you have room for only 2. You might need to punch more holes to have a nice layout. I really like the daisy pins too! Are they the same size?

The daisies are .67 inch. The heart is 1 inch. The pigasus is 1 inch. I was also thinking one large pin in the center hole, that stretches to cover a lot of the holes. I may have to fill the two side holes. Or, make my own pin(s) out of the leather flowers I have. I figure I'll get a few pins and experiment.

I would take all the hardware off, then deal with the holes. You have a real knack of covering up holes/blemishes and making them look stunning.
Oooops @houseof999 said if first :)

Have you looked at The Buckle Guy? He has hardware in different sizes. (Posting on the run or I would have searched.)
As it turns out I found another answer, in case anybody needs a SMALL swivel snap brass closure.
These are on the casino and some of the smaller 90s bags. I have one broken swivel snap on my casino.

The answer is to look for a wonky WRISTLET at Goodwill. The wristlets have a short strap with ONE swivel snap attachment, which is the same size as the small casino bag hardware. The only thing you need to check is the hardware color.
I'm starting to avoid ALL west coast thrift stores especially goodwill who are charging retail prices for everything now. But mine are still selling wristlets and wallets for $8-$10, so it's worth it. But bags at my Goodwills are $45+ and most aren't worth that.

That's a great idea!

Yes, thrifting isn't fun anymore because of the high prices. That and the fact that most Goodwills and some of the others sell the better stuff online now. You won't even see a Coach in their stores.

Yeah, the other thing is there is WAY more overhead in buying anything online. If I find a bag at the thrift I pay no tax but online I pay almost 10% tax and then of course the high shipping.

This bag is from my Goodwill. This used to be available to buy, here. Not any more. And usually shopgoodwill doesn't work for me - I think there are lots of Coach collectors who bid things up further than ebay, at least for what I want.

I've found savers thrift stores (in my area called value village) to be a great place to find coach bags. I just found this yesterday! It was $50 and they had it back behind the counter. I had a twenty percent off discount coupon so I paid $40. Ranch bag, looks to need very minimal rehab.

Thats beautiful and a great find!

Lots of people drive 40 miles to go thrifting on YouTube. I used to just walk down the street but I think I'm going to need to hunt out other stores in places like Sacramento (I am in SF) - where they still have Savers and St Vincent de Paul. Our goodwills went WAY upscale, too much - almost like consignment.
