I was looking for some leather flowers to put on the front of the Kristy color block bag... looking at Etsy, looking at what I have. I was thrifting today, and found this pair of shoes crusted with leather flowers on top. Bought 'em. Dismantled 'em. I've detached several of the flowers (it's slow going work) and washed them to uncurl the ends. Now they are drying. I'm pleased! One of these painted black might end up on the Kristy bag.

Hi all! I got a Court bag today. It's in decent condition, dirty but no significant damage or wear. I did a dunk with Dawn (that should be YouTube series about rehabbing bags, "Do a Dunk with Dawn".). Anyway, I must have unlocked decades of cat pee. Stinky! I've searched through this thread for solutions to eliminate the odor. Some posts are from as far back as ten years, so I thought I would ask if there are any newer products or processes to get rid of bad odors, specifically cat urine.

I saw OdorZout, Febreeze, Nature's Miracle, silica packs, and the old standby: white vinegar. Are there others? Thank you!!

One more story. I found a really rare (pretty decrepit shape) hasp bag on shopgoodwill. Won the auction. Dunked, rehabbed, the works. It was much improved! People from that online group discussed my bag and freaked the heck out about it and wrote me many, many hate letters. All because I shared this cute picture of dunk in process. People are crazy. In my book, dunking is an absolutely great and helpful technique.
That hasp bag is stunning @ConnieinSeattle.

Years ago someone suggested aquarium charcoal. Also baking soda. Putting it outside in fresh air for a week or two.

Fresh coffee grounds, bounce sheets…

Hello experts, I am hoping someone here can give me some advice.

This stewardess is actually in great condition ***EXCEPT*** the top where the flap folds over that is damaged like I have never seen! Cracking damage... is there anything I can do about this?? Sand it down somehow? That will ruin the finish.
Ugh.

I had really bad cracking on a bag, too. Skinny tote. Never could get it to look nice. I am liking this Angelus filler product I used recently, though. I haven't tried it on filling in cracking, but might be an experiment.

that's a good thought. Some of that filler or even the rubbery leather cement to smooth it over, might help? I thought the angelus filler product was white though, not transparent. I actually have some, I don't remember.

Mine is white, dries white. You have to paint/dye on top of it. I've been using it for ripped corners. Works great!

Wood n Stuff leather refinisher is an acrylic compound that colors and might fill in the gaps. You would only need the sample size bottle.
