Rehab done here. There were strange dark marks and streaks on the top flap, back, and mostly front bottom. I dunked, I scrubbed, they wouldn't budge. I never did figure out what kind of marks they were. Leather CPR did not minimize them. Oh, well. Black dye to the rescue. Here are some photos of the Chrystie Bag now. Black exterior, brown interior. I think kind of cute. Not sure why so shiny... I used black leather dye. No kind of polish except the blackrock leather 'n rich at the end.

Have you used that brand of dye before? Most leather dyes are too shiny. Angelus sells a "duller" you can add to the dye to reduce the shine.
I've used Kiwi brand leather dye before, and it never seemed "too shiny." Thanks for the tip---searching for the angelus product.
Not my favorite either. But I do like it better than British Tan...lol.

I have a few of these style bags. For me, they're more collector pieces, rather than bags to carry around. My fun is just looking at them which I do everyday! (I have one in rust color!) This black one I got for re-selling.
