Well, I tried everything I could think of and this ink is not budging. I assume coated canvas is probably as hard as patent to remove marks once they’re in there.

And after my cleaning attempts:
IMG_1345.jpegLuckily I went in to this with a semi-formed plan in mind, lol! I’m thinking of riveting these leather flowers to it to cover the stains. This is my preliminary layout.

What are your thoughts? I sort of wish I’d gone for a bit more color…a more playful palette but this one makes it more of a fall/winter bag maybe?

I think the flowers look great! With coated canvas, stains seem to get underneath the coating, just like patent leather. They are impossible to clean off.

Hi Coachies, it's been a long time and I hope that you are all well?! I haven't been around much but I do check in and lurk sometimes. I enjoy reading the sage advice of experts like @BeenBurned, @Hyacinth, and @whateve - and also to learn from the wisdom of all of the excellent rehabbers!

There have been several reasons for my absence, primarily due to some significant health issues, but I am doing better now. Another reason for my absence is because I am trying to control my purse obsession and to stop buying bags! I have been attempting to stay away from thrift shops, ebay, other online sites, coach stores and outlets, etc. I haven't bought anything new (or new-to-me) for ages, but I still love my purses and I really do have a lot of bags that need attention!

I haven't been doing much rehabbing, just some maintence and minor fixess, but I recently decided to rehab a bag and give it to a friend for Christmas. She also loves bags and I have gifted her with a couple of my rehabs in the past; and she really liked them and uses them!

My skills are very rusty so I decided to select a simple rehab project but also a bag that I thought my friend would enjoy. I picked a Large Gray Garnet Satchel 13924 with Nickel Hardware. It was released in Fall 2009 and retailed for $498. The bag was intact and in very good condition. It did show some signs of wear - a few scuffs, scratches, and it was a little soiled and had some corner wear, etc. It had been cared for, but it had been stored poorly in recent years because it was misshapen and a little wrinkled.

Here is the only before picture that I have, but I also managed to "brush up" on my Wayback Machine skills to find a couple of images from the Coach website in December 2009. I will post the after pictures next.
Welcome back from me as well. I have really enjoyed reading about your rehabs and the garnet is indeed stunning. I watch several strings on tPf but do not get notified of some of them. Does someone know if notifications only happen when one posts in the thread? Anyway, that is the reason my welcome is so belated, but from the heart nevertheless :)

This buying online and not actually holding the bag and examining it in person in the light is really a kind of a pig in a poke! (no offense to those of you with pet pigs). Don't know what you're getting, exactly. And, sometimes, the outcome is "Yay!" I like finding out a black bag I bought is really green or blue or a brown bag I bought is really burgundy.
I bought a bag that was advertised as bottle green and when I unpacked it in the evening it looked a dull, dull green - very disappointing. Next morning in daylight it showed up a fabulous green color - happy dance !! This green is a real chameleon, with the color tone changing constantly with the light source.

You can get notifications two ways - if you post in the thread or if you select "watch" at the top of the thread. I see it on the desktop. I'm not sure how it looks on other devices or in other browsers. When you select watch, you can select whether or not to receive email notifications.

All done…I think. What say you? I have a few more pieces so I could add to the top? The first punch of the hole for the rivet was kinda gut wrenching but it went fine. A couple of misfires on attaching the rivets but other than that, it went smoothly. I’m surprised at how flat they lay inside. I was worried about items catching on them. What say you?

Thanks @whateve ...yes the threads are "watched" though not sent to my email address anymore. I will make sure to open the threads I'm interested in, in the future, rather than relying on the red notice by my name.
