Here's what I do for a black bag with color loss. I use this product, super easy and sponge applicator. After that's dry, you condition some more with Leather CPR.

Do not use shoe polish on it! Try black saddle soap. Here’s a tutorial:
Just to clarify, the product I was touting is not "polish," it's leather dye. Kiwi makes a ton of other products including polish. I'm not recommending that on a Coach purse. No way, no how! Your tutorial was interesting, and the bag looks great. I'm going to go find some black saddle soap and experiment myself! Thanks for sharing.

I have a question and since I just joined today, I can’t post a new thread. However, I’m desperate for help. I bought a coach canvas bag and 2 days after I bought it, mold started appearing from the inside I assume. The lining is clean. I bought this BRAND NEW just a couple weeks ago. The day I noticed it, it was a small spot on the bottom. However, by that night, it had crawled almost to the top. I am devastated because I love this bag so much and I have never seen such a thing but I tried everything including cleaner with bleach and it will not come off. At all. Nothing. Please help!!!!!!!
what is the brand of Black Saddle Soap? Not sure I know what that is.
I usually just put a teeny bit of Angeles paint mixed in with CPR.

Does it smell like mold? The only way mold would grow is if it got damp. Once I bought something online and by the time it reached me the package smelled like mold. Even a tiny bit of moisture, if it is trapped inside a package with the purse can cause mold to grow. It shouldn't be that hard to kill mold ( vinegar or sunlight will do it) but if the mold causes stains, those stains could be permanent. Can you post pictures and tell us more about where you bought it?
You need several coats of conditioner before you can determine if you need dye.
