I noticed on some groups, it was a really big deal to know everything someone has done to a bag. Whether it’s been touched up in any way. These bags have lived a whole life before it reaches someone, it’s almost unrealistic to know everything it’s been through. From working in sales, I would say under promise and over deliver. Ask buyers to zoom into photos as they add to the description of the bag and please feel free to ask for more photos/questions before buying. Also with size, sometimes I add a can of Coke for comparison because I can visualise it better. But you’re always going to have people who make a fuss because they want some money back.
Great advise! Thank you so much. I helped a friend take care of selling his parent estate and what an experience that was. I learned a lot about selling online and about people (there were some doozies!). I expect to get “those” buyers but I am new to the rehabbing / selling coach and get attached to the bags so it stung a bit. I appreciate the tips from everyone here and for letting me vent

Lol there’s always going to be a buyer for your bags so I personally never rush. I have noticed in the US some bags have a tag on them that you need to cut off to say they’re yours. I’m not exactly sure what human behaviour lead them to be there but can only guess. The US market is a whole different beast to the UK so I may sound naive.
Selling an estate in the US must have been a mad experience.

Chester is repaired! Shoe repair guy fixed the broken zipper. $35. He replaced the pull hardware. Zips like butter, now. But doesn't look as nice as the original hardware, in my opinion. So, and  .

That's not too bad. I wonder if you could get him to cut out the zipper pull and put in the ring instead. Then you could get some leather to make a pull.

oooh.. I need to do this on my slim satchel. I was thinking I might have to have the whole zipper replaced, but if i can get away with only the pull, that opens up a whole new option.

Thanks for sharing!

Coach bargain hunting morning. I saw this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/185697018655 Which makes me so sad. WHY did they destroy all these bags? And who would buy them now? Giant X's slashed through cutting the leather.
Some brands do this to excess stock to prevent them from being sold. What is says in the description doesn't make sense. To make things final sale, so they couldn't be returned again, Coach marked the creeds rather than making the bags unusable. It is more likely the merchandise was damaged or had flaws and Coach didn't want them to be sold in that condition.

That is a horrible practice! I know it's about quality control, but I would GLADLY buy one at a reduced price. Portland Leather does Almost Perfect bags that have small flaws, and they sell them for less. I've bought 5 of these items from them, and I can't even find the "flaws," yet I got them for a song. I think that's a better way to go. PL isn't really a luxury brand, so maybe that's why they do that. At any rate, the company still makes $, and the buyer gets a great deal. And there's less senseless waste. I like that!

Did you make the zipper pull yourself? It looks amazing!
I did! It's one of the 1st I've made.

That's the very 1st tassel I ever made too. It's not fantastic, but it's okay. It's been stored for awhile, so it's a bit wrinkly. I'm glad I got the bag out because I've realized I need to store that tassel separately. I don't like the ring it's attached with--not brass. It's what I could find at the time. BUT now Buckleguy has latched rings like that in solid brass. I'm going to order some and bust out some new detachable tassels. I love making them!
