the other issue is that Coach bags are appreciating in price, so it feels like if you hold on to your bags, they will be worth more later, or I might not be able to get a particular vintage bag ever again if I sell it.
... and that is how I rationalize hoarding!
Yet, I always have trouble selling for a good price, so I wouldn't ever tell someone to buy for resale. Still, I wish I had hung onto my Winnie so I could sell it now.

Thank you! I actually think pebbled leather rehabs super easy and nicely. I'm shopping another pebbled leather bag like this.
Same. Pebbled leather is really durable. I've found that's it's very easy to rehab in most cases. I usually don't even dunk it, depending on the bag, of course. Just wipe it down with a wet rag, then leather cleaner, then a couple coats of CPR. Oil, like Obenaufs or Blackrocks is a must for pebbled leather, imo. It brings that shine right back. If there are any worn spots or surface scratches, I hit those with Saphir or Meltonian, which will penetrate the surface well in the case of pebbled leather. I give it one more good buff. And it's done!

I have a problem. Every time I rehab a bag, I develop "feelings" for it. I want it. This bag especially, even though I bought it for re-selling. It's called "rapport." Every time I touch it, I'm like: "This is SUCH a nice bag!"
Omg, yes!! I have a huge collection now for that reason and because I always keep the ones that are too damaged.
One of the first bags I rehabbed and sold was a Carriage Classics Fulton. I've been looking for another one (that doesn't cost an arm and a leg) since. :D

I’m working on a Richmond flap and wondering how best to tackle unraveling stitching where the edges come together. It’s missing several stitches but I can still see the holes- can I just find a thread that matches and hand stitch it back down? View attachment 5653211
Yes, I've done it with two bags. For the second one, I bought needles for leather. The tips are triangulated. It can be a bit of challenge, but it can be done. I have two bags with side that tabs are coming loose so I am going to work on resewing them to.

I got my challenging bag in the mail today. It's not as bad as it originally seemed. It does have a lot of interesting colored stains on it and shredded leather.

Super interested to see how the patina comes out!

On a side note, I may continue to a be a bit quiet here. My company is requiring me to be on site for the time being which means back to a long commute. And, I am a bit busy re-homing an energetic 3 year old cockatiel who recently came into my life unforeseen, as my other cockatiel companion of 17 years, flew over the Rainbow Bridge! Bless and rest his heart

Sorry for the loss of your bird! I also have a 17 year old (lovebird)

Much improved already! What are your plans for the shredded edges? Is it burgundy? BT?
With the abuse and neglect this bag has endured, it's surprising the hangtag is still present.
Please post the transformation.
I think it's mahogany, but I don't know. I'm CPR'ing it. When it's dry, I'm going to attempt to glue down the existing pieces. Then I'm thinking of puff paint to fill in the gaps and smooth it. The edges almost look black compared to the rest of the leather. I'll see if I can match the color with a mixture of brown and black. The strap is cracked and dry, but the rest of the bag actually looks pretty intact. Stained, but intact. I like this bag.

ETA. Here are the official colors. It must be one of these. :) "Black, Mocha, Tabac, British Tan, Saddle, Burgundy, Navy, and Red."
