Hey girl, those measurements are dead on for the Shopping Bag 9565 from the Fall ’81 pics Hyacinth uploaded on the first page of Catalog thread. I’m completely jelly
9565 is id’ed as the Shopping Bag Small. Whateve posted a pic with measurements on the ID thread. Interestingly enough metric measurements were included for the Shopping Bag Small. That ad/catalog pic must’ve been targeted to international buyers!

Not my listing, but would love to see someone here rehab this Vintage Convertible Clutch with before and after pics….I have feeling this was black or navy a long, long, time ago…

Thank you my friend..and also @VintageEnthusiast for giving me the heads up as well.
It's actually quite large for a small bag.

Hi there! Do you think the brass on this 1995 Coach bag could be brightened up since it's plated and not solid brass?
Also, the little "stain" mark on the leather -- would a bath and leather CPR fade it? THANK YOU. Newbie here. View attachment 5633467 View attachment 5633473
I think that is solid brass under the protective coat. The only harware that I encountered so far that are plated and different metal under (normally silver color) are the circle magnetic snaps like the ones on Maggie and Casey. I use a fine steel wool or a fine nail file to take the coat off then polish them after.

Thank you! I think Hyacinth said sold brass ended around 1990. Any thoughts on the little stain on the leather? Would a bath help such little marks/stains? THANKS!

It looks like a water stain. In my experience it fades with a bath and blends in better after. However if you look at previous posts, there are some stains that a does not come off. There are even instances that the previous owner tried to retouch/cover up imperfections with some paint, and a bath may rinse the paint off and uncover hidden spots/stains. Generally though, a bath improves a bag’s appearance.

Thank you so much for this information. I will proceed with caution! Firstly, maybe determining if it's really that noticeable. Thank YOU! :)

I agree with the above too. With cleaning and conditioning leather can really improve. And in my experience with BT, lighter colors, it can bring something to the surface in some instances. I got a feel for what what a bag might look like after dunking from working on lots a bags. But I always prepare myself that anything could happen esp. if the the bag is other than black, mahog, blavy (black/navy)!

Well.... The black bag turned out as expected. It didn't. Can't CPR cracks away. The strap is trash. I think I will recycle the useable leather from the bag. Other bags from my black wash: Mansur Gavriel mini bucket, Michael Green shoulder bag, and biker wallet. The last 2 turned out great. The Mansur... I wanted to see if it's worth my time to rehab one. Nope. Too much edge coat to deal with, and the leather does not rebound its shape.
