Hi there,

Can I safely dunk my 1986 Dinky in Twill #8375? I’m unsure how the fabric will stand up to a good soak/dry?

Any advice welcomed.

Thanks Ladies

Zoe x
Got it. So the twill has yellowed a lot and actually the bleached out spot is not as bad as I remembered. View attachment 5324357View attachment 5324360View attachment 5324365View attachment 5324366
I love these bags! I’m afraid I would get CPR on the twill tho and stain it terribly on day one. Do you have to tape off the fabric to condition? What is the solution?

I was ridiculous with this bag (pic below). It took me way too long to tape off the fabric and apply conditioner with a paintbrush. It came out beautifully, though!

I just acquired a vintage stewardess bag. There were some strips of duct tape stuck on the interior on the inside zip pocket suede. I wondered, why? It pulled off easily, being who knows how many decades old. What I found underneath was disgusting!! There was gum (I think it was gum) and the foil wrappings on the gum all misshapen and melted and stuck in varying size globs hard as rock on the suede. So, rather than clean a mess in their bag, they covered it up with duct tape? Crazy. Anyway. I soaked the bag and then scrubbed the area with a toothbrush got really ALL the gum off it, but there remains speckles of foil and adhesive residue stuck on the suede. My idea is to pick at the pieces of foil with a tweezer. Any best ideas on how to remove duct tape residue from suede? I should have taken a picture of the original shocking mess. However, here's what it looks like now.
The tape worked! I was using heavy duty package strap tape to lift off the duct tape residue. And tweezers. And I bought a suede brush which should come in the mail today. Not perfect. Yet. But, much better.

I think I just rubbed conditioner in with my fingertips to keep it off the twill. I was sparing as the leather was in good shape. The leather did bleed onton the twill which is the scariest thing.

Look what just arrived in the post!! Hehehe. And so it begins again. But man I’m not looking forward to that pool of ink. It reminds me of the pool at the bottom of my Lula that exploded into a spot clear through to the outside when I tried to work on it. Ugh. I’ll try to file it down first before I get impatient with vinegar. Prayers!View attachment 5323878
I have this huge mahog Travel Tote with a large ink stain. The stain barely budged! The rest conditioned up.

Hello,
I am planning to color refresh BT bag with Saphir Juvacuir and as far as my research showed medium brown is a match to British tan. Is that correct? Unfortunately I have to order online so there is no way of seeing color live. I have a store near by which sells saphir shoe polishes and cream. I wonder if I could match shoe polish color to the bag and order that color Juvacuir.

Just bought this Stewardess. Pretty good shape, but not sure what these “abrasive “ like marks are. Any thoughts? Hoping all the threads I’ve researched about dunking then conditioning the bag will help! They are only on the back of the bag. Otherwise, great condition. This will be my first “rehab “, so any suggestions are welcome! Thank you!

I don't think they are mold but someone else might have more insight into that?

Since the marks are on the back of the bag they may just be wear from rubbing against clothes. They might disappear with a bath, conditioner, and Blackrocks - I would try that first. If you think that they could be mold you should add vinegar to the bath.

It looks like just wear to me too. I always add vinegar to the bath as well, just in case!

It is medium brown, but BT does vary quite a bit. I had such a strange experience with this product, sending my pics for insight. Maybe I put too much Saphir into the mix? It just didn’t absorb. The next time I applied CPR, it all rubbed off. I haven’t used it since and at 15USD per bottle, it isn’t cheap.

Now that’s real attention to detail! I was just going to use my fingers to apply the CPR, now I’m not so sure I should
