I'm in need of a wristlet strap for a Basic Bag. It is completely missing, so I don't know exactly what it should look like or the length/width/etc to search for one. Any recommendations for finding a replacement or advice on how it should look? Thank you.

It's not coach but it is black leather and brass hardware and it is inexpensive:

It's not accurate or traditional but you might look for a gold metal chain-link lanyard strap.

I finally gave up trying to replace the missing leather strap on my beechnut coach Gracie so I decided to use a coach chain strap. It's not perfect but I am happy with the results.

It’s a rehabbing miracle! Yesterday I gave this poor spectator Court a 30min dunk with vinegar and dawn while scrubbing it with a horsehair brush. I was expecting the dye flakes to fully come off in the dunk and my plan was to just go over it with paint+cpr to fill in the holes once it was dry. After the dunk I stuffed it and did one coat of leather CPR. Woke up this morning to find the scratches filled in and the flakes all flattened:eek:

Definitely still need to go over it with paint, but the flakes/scratches had me worried about how the texture would turn out. Happy to say I think this might turn out better than I expected
Gonna give it some more CPR today while I wait for the paint to come in tomorrow.
Nice!!!!! Chamberlain's healing balm is made for these types of situations. I used it on my Basic with far shallower scratches and other surface defacing but it really did something coupled with the magic CPR after. I actually came to this thread tonight w/ the intention of writing a long long prose about my love for the two products (and br!) haha. It's coming!

Thanks for the tip! Haven’t used chamberlains before but I’ll definitely look into it:smile:

I just bought a cream Gracie from goodwill and it is missing the strap too. I think this bag especially looks good with the gold chain. I plan on doing the same with mine. Very nice!

I saw that that Gracie on Goodwill, good luck with the rehab! I think that the color is Ivory, which is almost white. See the typical colors of the Italian Madison bag hangtags below; but they also made them in some other colors including a very light yellow called Butter, see the picture below.

Here is the coach chain strap that I use on my beechnut Gracie, it is currently available from the Coach Outlet for $20:

I finally got a Ranch! Found this BT Ranch on Poshmark and snapped it up. She was a pretty straight forward rehab with a bath, 5-6 coats of Leather CPR, 1 application of Obenauf’s Heavy Duty LP, and 2 applications of Blackrocks.

I’m loving the patina and marks on the flap! I’m saving her to use on a road trip early next month.

It is stunning, and like you, I particularly love the lines on the flap!!!

That is amazing, and oh so gratifying! She's going to be a beauty!

I never have enough on hand so when I do have some, I rub it all over the dry bag for at least an hour before dunking it but if I remember correctly some on here go half half @LadaZuri @Coachaddict4020 :confused1:???
I use half a cup in regular dunks & do 50/50 (vinegar & water alone, no soap) if Im soaking the bag to get smoke smell out.

Be mindful of which rehabs you’re adding the vinegar to. It ate away the brass coating on my Winnie’s strap & exposed the pale silver metal underneath (my Winnie is a 97’). @lazysundays also had an issue where the vinegar ate away at the coating of her nickel hardware but she polished it back to an even finish with a scouring pad.
I usually do about half cup per dunk in a regular sized sink of water (no farmhouse sinks here). I’ve had no issues with my brass or any leather but as @Coachaddict4020 said, it did eat away at my ‘05 Janice nickel coating. I didn’t add vinegar to my Camel/nickel Court though so can’t say if it’s just the year or plant of manufacture or that if it’s all nickel. :hrmm:

There's a feature on Amazon in the US that I have come to love. If you ever look at something that you've bought previously, a box at the top of the item page tells you how many times and when you bought it. I headed there to get this Healing Balm after reading your post because I have a bag coming that will need some work on the leather surface. Well, surprise, surprise I bought it last year! Yes, it was on my supply shelf, behind some other items that I use more often. Saved me money but made me realize that I need to reorganize that shelf!

Haha, nice! I love the smell of the healing balm. Looking forward to the photographs of the bag! ;) Is it a duffle?

I have a black Metropolis and two brown (think mocha and tabac) Basics all in poor condition that up until last night were just sitting and collecting dust.

I had dunked them a few months ago and piled on 20983432 coats of 29874923 different conditioners (NONE being cpr) and nothing happened except oversaturation yet STILL dry! I redunked and SCRUBBED them a few weeks ago and didn't condition them, thinking they still had too much conditioner, but they stayed dry and cardboard-y. Since Amazon UK finally restocked cpr and I ordered a bunch to come, I decided there was nothing to lose by trying healing balm on the defaced areas and a thick layer of cpr on each of the bags.

Well now they're all CPRed up, super soft, all the defacing to the surface has been vigorously buffed out and they're glowing! Not done with them to take after pics as I'm going to finish them after my exams but this completely lifts my mood as I thought I had a scrap pile of bags to have to try and sell on for pennies.

The Metropolis piping was super super worn and white and no conditioner (including LT) was making any difference to texture nor colour. One layer of CPR brought the colour right back! Now the whole bag is glowing from conditioning whereas the other conditioners before were making no difference at all. I think I will keep and try out the Metropolis now that it looks good! My three Basics (third is burgundy) will be going.

After trying out a gazillion products, I definitely think my favourites are healing balm, cpr and br. I need to do a direct comparison of renapur and chambers to find br's runner up. There are no runners up to healing balm and cpr.

Here’s some pics of mine! It’s 7 & 1/4th inches in length & half an inch in width. It also has a clamp piece that’s covered in leather, it hides where the strap connects after looping:

Thank you for the photos and measurements, which will be helpful if I decide to check with a local cobbler to create a strap. Price dependent, of course
