oh my god!!??!? is your friend looking for more friends  They're all beautiful!!! A free lunchbox.. i'm shaking

I don't think the scratches are too deep, just that it looks like it because the dye is lifting off where it was scratched. I've been pressing the dye back down and the scratches look less noticeable, which makes me think I can go over it with paint and it should be able to cover it. Here's a picture after I pressed the dye flakes down. Not perfect, but a bit improved.

I'm going to keep it partly because it's already been a pain getting the bag and party because she's really cute at some angles.. in the right light.. if you squint.. but really I do like the bag and I'm just gonna take it as a bit of a challenge/experiment.

I see what you mean about the way the seller is angling the bag, but he had pictures at different angles that also didn't seem scratched. My guess is that the bag wasn't scratched and sometime after the picture was taken it got all messed up. Which could also be why he lowered the price. Really messed up.
Thank you! I'll keep you guys posted on how it turns out

I bought a camel and white Legacy Spectator Compact Pouch several months ago that is very similar to your court bag. Mine is in pretty good shape except that it has a nasty mark right on the front of the bag! I will be very interested to see the results of your rehab!

Gorgeous! I haven't seen that one. Is it from one of the brief case lines?
I read that it’s from the 1970’s if I’m not mistaken.
ETA maybe one of the authenticators can answer if it was part of the brief case lines.
I think it was just considered a purse. Here it is in a 1978 catalog.1978 catalog musette 5080 brief bag 9640 slim pouch 9645 organizer.JPG

Has anyone had luck with sending a vintage bag to Coach directly to have it re-done? As some of you may know, I have a Patricia's Legacy whose flap was pretty destroyed from previous mold and a torn trim. Aside from trying a local cobbler (which is scarce) I did reach out to Coach about mailing it in to be re-done.

The only downside is it has to be retail to be "covered" so I anticipate some major cash to be shelled out for a vintage bag. If anyone has experience working with them on a Vintage bag I would appreciate any input and perhaps cost associated.
I imagine it would be super expensive, take a really long time, and not necessarily come out better than you could have done by yourself. Have you considered having them customize the flap by adding flowers and pins to hide the damage? That is very expensive too. I bet you might be able to find someone on etsy who could make a new flap for your bag. It could be the cheapest option.

ETA: Years ago I sent in a few things for repair. One thing they sent back, unrepaired. Another I wanted a leather loop sewn back but they just cut it off. On a Poppy, they replaced a button. It took several months.

I’ve never seen/heard of an Emmie until now. It’s such a nice shape!
