I asked a restorer about dunking a manor because I’d heard stories about the cardboard in some bags. She told me the flap is lined with leather but there’s no cardboard so it was fine to dunk them. I had one that needed reshaping and it came out fine.
Thank you for the information! I still feel skittish about dunking the Manor bag so I’m going to enjoy her as she is! Much appreciated!

I'm pretty convinced I know what caused all the weird staining on my jade Chrystie now. I had theorized that it might have been because I preconditioned it with leather CPR before dunking it, but since I had heard so many people say they preconditioned their bags I wasn't too confident that that was the case. However, I was working on this red bag and dunked it without pre-conditioning. After dunking it, I immediately applied leather CPR and allowed it to naturally dry. It came out pretty great, but it did have a large darkened spot (but I think it had this spot before I dunked it, the bag was just darker and it was harder to see the spot before the dunk). I figured I'd give it a shot and try to clean off the spot, so I dunked it again. Now as it's drying I'm seeing those stains that popped up on the jade bag pop up on this one. Luckily, its a dark red bag so its harder to see, and its definitely not to the extent that the jade bag was stained, I also have a good matching acrylic color so i'm thinking of going over some of the stains. But I'm pretty convinced that the stains popped up this time because I had dunked it after I had conditioned the bag. Maybe if you condition a bag and wait several days for the condition to set in fully before dunking this staining won't happen. But I'm definitely going to be more careful to not dunk a bag that has been recently conditioned anymore.

Ok .. Here are the pics from my trip to the Coach Store at KOP Mall yesterday. Coach wasn't my original destination, I actually went so I could get batteries for my SWATCH watches because the last SWATCH store in the Balto/DC/VA region, Tysons Corner, closed . Anyway, there I was drooling over the Willis when I spied the ?? in the case and the other bags on the shelf. Are the red and black bags Dinky's? I actually held the third bag from the right of the Stewardess bag (on the high shelf) and it's a Pocket Bag but it's not in pristine condition. The bag had a lot of ink stains in it and you could tell it was well used and loved.

I ALSO held the RED Maggie that was sold on the Coach website in the re-loved section. The person who purchased it thought it was a larger bag and ended up returning it to Coach at KOP Mall because the bag was too small. I opened it up and there was a card in it from Debi the Restorer. Here's a link to the bag at the Coach website: https://www.coach.com/coach-vintage-maggie-duffle/C8831.html?dwvar_color=B4/RD#start=27. If you want to purchase this bag, you can: just call Coach at KOP Mall and they will happily sell it to you for $495.00 + tax & s/h. UH-HUH!

Thanks for continuing to educate me on Coach bags and all things Coach!

That particular Willis is not from 1993. They didn't start using that hardware until 1997.

You're welcome! You should check out the craft bar. I eyeballed it and the entire shebang is really cool! That particular location has all of the goodies you need to decorate your lovely Coach bag if that's your heart's desire. (It isn't mine, sorry!) I cringed when the SA showed me and my sister some of the samples and how the decorative elements are applied. I like my bags just as they are and the only decorative elements I apply are fobs and scarves and things that can be removed, nothing permanent. Sorry! I'm just not that adventurous when it comes to my beloved Coach babies. But all of that bling is cool though!

I did it to the strap of one of my bags. It was too boring black for me, plus it isn't a super vintage style and I didn't like the rippling of the strap.

Am I the only one that carries something classy to manage my pens? Take a look at my Bleecker Pencil Case in Sharkskin/Natural 64544 BQP, it's a beauty!

I don't carry pens anymore although I do have a classy pencil case, the Snoopy one. I just leave a pen in the car in case I need one.

I am dying--that Maggie at the KOP store is the one I returned! I honestly thought someone from the store would purchase it. If they were faking their enthusiasm, they were quite good! When I bought and returned the bag, the price was $395. Then Coach hiked the price $100. The Maggie at KOP is beautiful and in wonderful condition. However, the 9019 Maggies are available on ebay and other resale sites for appreciably less.

KOP is my most convenient FP store and the SAs are very, very nice. I mostly buy through the store in the Christiana Mall in Delaware, land of no sales tax.
I suspected it was the bag you returned!

I was wondering if it was lighting or the picture. Sometimes I can't tell brass from nickel in photos.

It looks like my Camel and Nickel Willis that was made in 1999 in Costa Rica (but mine still has the strap!)
