Might the green casino need more hydration before finishing? If it’s sucking them up, maybe go back to some cpr. It’s fine to use on top of the BR and Renapur. Just keep buffing in between layers still.I wonder if the secret is the amount of buffing? @Busykitty buffs until her bags glow.![]()
Hi everyone I am new to coach rehab, I recently purchased an early 80s NYC bag (authenticated here). I heard that the dunking method may cause the leather to crack . Can anyone point me to an alternative way method?
I haven't received it yet but these are the photos from the listingWelcome! Could you post a few photos so we can see the condition of the leather? Thank you!
Cracking is rare and usually only happens when the leather has been allowed to get extremely dry over many years. That bag looks to be in good shape. I think it would do well with a dunking. There isn't another method that works as well as dunking. I've never had a bag crack on me from dunking that I can remember but I remember someone dunking something that literally fell apart in the bath.I haven't received it yet but these are the photos from the listing

My first rehab was a terribly mistreated Basic Bag. I’ve kept that fringing for posterity!I think Im the only one here eho is not a Basic fan...its just too small for me. Thinking of using my one and only as a pouch in a bigger bag
Nice! Giving it back it’s dignity! My first rehab was a terribly mistreated Basic Bag. I’ve kept that fringing for posterity!
I’ll never part with her and use her for occasional forays where I don’t need to carry much around with me…
Morning!
Just finished this rehab with a very lazy buff of this 1997 Willis in Mahogany.
I’m continually amazed at how good the leather quality has withstood the test of time on these old girls.
A quick before/after…
Stay safe

But seriously, as far as body mechanics go - keep your elbow locked into your side and only use your forearm to do the work. This seems to lessen the strain on my shoulders and elbows for me. Put on some System of a Down and buff to the beat! That’s what I do!I’m very lazy at buffing…are there any tips out there?
