I'm considering grabbing a possible alternative to Leather CPR to tide me over until summer as it's been warm and sunny recently and I reeeeeally want to dunk my bags... What does everyone think of Chamberlain's leather milk / balm, or Leather Honey? Those are ones I can get in the UK via Amazon prime to arrive tomorrow so I could dunk the bags and dry them out in the sun tomorrow before conditioning!!!

So excited xx
Chamberlains is nice, use the milk first in place of cpr. The balm would be more of a finisher like blackrock. Can you get bickmore products? Do you have a horsehair brush?

ETA - honey will darken lighter colored bags but if that’s your only option you can use it in place of cpr. It’s worked with differently. You’ll coat the bag or a few panels and leave it to dry for several hours - overnight. The process may be a little slower due to this. Good luck!!;)

Thanks for everybody's advice so far. I've just gone ham and dunked both the camel court and bt casino as I only get sun today and tomorrow. It was so scary removing the hardware for the first time!

@LunaSilver - thanks - I've ordered the Saphir.

@Busykitty thanks - I can also get Bickmore products - would you recommend it over Chamberlain's? The only product I currently have in possession mentioned on here is Renapur. So I need that CPR alternative and I'll use Renapur in place of BR.
ETA - spoke too soon - checked further and can't actually get Bickmore. I do have a horsehair brush plus a little suede brush.

Here are some pics!

I’m in the UK and was planning to dunk tomorrow too! One of our only sunny day to get bags dry :biggrin:

I have a Metropolitan and Willis, and might redo my Janice. I have a bit of leather CPR left and used to use blackrocks but think I prefer Rebapur! What are you using on the brass out of curiosity?

I'll be attempting to use Cape Cod cloths as recommended by @LunaSilver which should be arriving this week. How about you?

Thank you for your advice. Yes, not yet having Leather CPR is why my bags are piling up but staying where they are right now :sad: ! If all goes as planned, I'll be visiting the states in the summer so I'll try to buy CPR and BR there and bring them back to the UK in a checked-in bag. Need to check luggage rules though. Do you have any other product recommendations I should try to pick up when I'm there?

Many thanks xx
The yellow Sunshine Polishing Cloths are another final polishing tool for your brass. They were a game changer for me, to get the brass smooth and gleaming. (I have purchased online on Etsy - I try to buy in 10 packs. You can cut them with scissors to smaller cloths, handy for the small brass pieces on vintage Coach. They stay effective for a really long time, even after they darken from removing tarnish.

Thank you for your recommendation - is this what I'm looking for? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sunshine-Polishing-Materials-7-75x5-Inches/dp/B00O3H5YCA
