Thanks for everybody's advice so far. I've just gone ham and dunked both the camel court and bt casino as I only get sun today and tomorrow. It was so scary removing the hardware for the first time!

@LunaSilver - thanks - I've ordered the Saphir.

@Busykitty thanks - I can also get Bickmore products - would you recommend it over Chamberlain's? The only product I currently have in possession mentioned on here is Renapur. So I need that CPR alternative and I'll use Renapur in place of BR.
ETA - spoke too soon - checked further and can't actually get Bickmore. I do have a horsehair brush plus a little suede brush.

Here are some pics!

Does anyone boil their hardware? My friend who is in the military told me he boils his badges to make them shine... :whut:

@Busykitty thanks for the recommendation - I've gone ahead and bought Chamberlain's milk no 1:panic:

please keep us posted with your rehab, curious about the result with the alternative conditioners. As I tried many conditioners, but never alone always used CPR first after dunk.

Do I spy a taupe/putty Prairie in the background?

Oh I forgot to post that one yesterday! It’s actually a Saddlery - but I’m not sure what color to call her.

I hardly ever remember to take good before/after photos, but here goes...

I was originally thinking I’d try to even out her color even more, but I think I’m going to leave her as-is now. I like the light browns and grays blending together.

Finished the British tan Basic bag! Didn't really need much, but since she has some years on her, I dunked anyway. I will definitely think long and hard before I dunk another NYC bag. Post dunk, the piping on the top pulled away from the seam, the zipper was unraveling a bit on that side, and it cracked a tiny bit near the d-ring! At least I'm 99% sure it happened during dunk, because I didn't notice any issues before. Definitely a learning experience. I cemented the piping the best I could, dabbed it with the Saphir med brown, and it looks decent. Cant get good pics here right now. Then I put so of the Aleene's glue on my fingers and ran it along where the material on the zipper was beginning to unravel to stop it from getting worse. I filled in the tiny crack near the d-ring with cement, and I am going to use it a few days and make sure how it holds up before I decide if I want to paint it or not. It's tiny so I might leave it alone.

Overall, happy with they way it turned out, and getting ready to move in if I can make myself move out of my court. Also happy that with my new rainbow strap, I can wear my basic bags and my swinger crossbody! Super excited to see how it works with the Swinger. I have so many bags I love I have a hard time deciding what to carry.

The hard to see tiny crack fix:

ETA it looks like there is a gap where I fixed the piping, I dont know if it's shadow or angle. Will try to get better pics tomorrow.

If I recall correctly, it was offered in gray, which is what this strikes me as. The patina of the gray changing to a neutral is striking!

Thanks! Any experience with chamberlain's or honey? Xx

I just used leather honey on my City Bag rehab and it worked nicely but it takes a long time to soak in. The label says to leave it minimum 2 hours and recommended overnight to absorb. CPR absorbs faster. I have been using them together, a couple coats of CPR then a final overnight soak with LH. I have not used it alone to rehab so can't say how it works solo.

Beautiful! Love a bag with patina!

This is so beautiful

WOW! BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Thank you! All our basic bag talk the last week gave me a kick in the butt to get my two finished.

Wow she's glowing!!

That would be thanks to all the BR she has on her  After she cracked, I might have gone overboard with the conditioners. Figured in this case too much was better than not enough. She's so soft now though!

My first rehab in a while! I splurged on 3 vintage Coach bags after we got our stimulus check; hubby told me to buy myself something since I let him do a lot of work on his truck with the last stimulus check.

A forest green Derby! She got the standard bath with Dawn and rinse with vinegar, then 6 coats of CPR over 48 hours and finished with 1 coat of Obenauf’s LP and 2 coats of BR. I also recolored the edges of the handle with Saphir Creme Renivatrice. I think that small whiteish spot on the back is from something getting rubbed on; it’s definitely not a scratch or paint (I tried scraping it off with my fingernail during the bath).

Hi ladies, super happy today - it's sunny and warm... and also my BT casino arrived a week early! No CPR so still can't dunk anything☹ but is this normal? The back of the flap and some of the inside is all weird and flat. Very smooth and flat which you can see contrasted with the fluffy restored red one @Busykitty sold me. I'm assuming it fluffs and plumps back up after a good dunk and scrub? I don't have the flatness with my unrehabbed Court.

I thought that fluffiness was from brushing the suede after rehab, which Busykitty confirmed.
I'm considering grabbing a possible alternative to Leather CPR to tide me over until summer as it's been warm and sunny recently and I reeeeeally want to dunk my bags... What does everyone think of Chamberlain's leather milk / balm, or Leather Honey? Those are ones I can get in the UK via Amazon prime to arrive tomorrow so I could dunk the bags and dry them out in the sun tomorrow before conditioning!!!

So excited xx
Leather Honey can change the color, possibly make it uneven. I only use it on very dry bags when other conditioners don't work.

I believe Chamberlains has gotten good reviews on the forum. I don't remember if I ever tried it.
