My experience with leather honey is so so. Tried chamberlain too, better but still far below than cpr. Sapphire brand leather balm lotion is better than the 2 you mentioned, it kind of combined cpr and black rock together.
Still cpr and BR is better than sapphire lotion, but if you have to find alternatives, that is what I will recommend

I've used this. I like it for delicate leathers. If I'm remembering correctly, it has a smell that lasts.

My first rehab in a while! I splurged on 3 vintage Coach bags after we got our stimulus check; hubby told me to buy myself something since I let him do a lot of work on his truck with the last stimulus check.

A forest green Derby! She got the standard bath with Dawn and rinse with vinegar, then 6 coats of CPR over 48 hours and finished with 1 coat of Obenauf’s LP and 2 coats of BR. I also recolored the edges of the handle with Saphir Creme Renivatrice. I think that small whiteish spot on the back is from something getting rubbed on; it’s definitely not a scratch or paint (I tried scraping it off with my fingernail during the bath).
It looks great! I'm always finding random small white marks on my bags that don't clean off.

I oversaturated with conditioner. Is it a matter of just going at it with the horsehair brush or can I remove the dried excess buildup somehow?

ETA: I just scrubbed the white excess off with some Coach cleaner and a brush - thoughts? Should I redunk and scrub everything off with dish soap and start over? What do I do now? Ugh, panicking. What a mess!

A lot of us use it as a finisher, so you use it after you’ve completed your rehab (dunk & cpr) as a final step. Apply a light coat with the sponge provided & then buff (horse hair brush or a cloth- depending on what you prefer). If you accidentally apply too much, you can wipe off the excess. It won’t change the colour of your bags so don’t be afraid to use it (except on suede). Also, if you notice the bag is a bit dry, you can do more applications. I like to space mine out a day or two apart. For maintenance, I like to condition my bags every 6-8 weeks. You can condition as often as you’d like. Hope this helps
Thank you very much. Will a makeup sponge work, mine didn't have a soft sponge ?

To add to Coachaddict4020's informative post... I have recently started heating the Renapur with a hairdryer while it is on the sponge, then very carefully run the warm air over the leather. I let the bag sit for several days, running the warm hairdryer over it periodically, and allow the Renapur to be absorbed over time. Buffing with a soft cloth and horse or goats hair brush as the final step gives a glorious end result.

Thank you ! So heat helps the bag absorb the Renapur a little better ?

My rehab work on my Rambler's Legacy has finished and I am really happy with how it turned out. I ended up having to douse it in vinegar to remove the smell but it has softened up nicely and I'm looking forward to wearing this baby too.

As for my daypack (?), it arrived today and it is in slightly worse condition than I thought. There's a lot of fading on it that the seller waved off as 'fine marks'. I can't be bothered to argue with her though and I don't want to send it back so hopefully the original colour will come back a little with a rehab and a condition. I don't mind so much if this isn't uniform colour as it is a practical bag but I am slightly annoyed because of how immaculate her picture seemed. Should still be a fun rehab project though

So sorry that happened. Which conditioner you used? If the bag still feels not right after 2 days, I would redunk with very warm dish detergent water and scrub with a soft brush.
ETA: wondering which conditioner cause the white residue? As Saphir balm never cause any problems on my rehabs, and I usually heavy on conditioners.

Also Saphir brand leather cleaner is a very aggressive cleaner, it should be able to remove those white residues with ease, but it dry out leather so not recommended to use on entire bag.
But if all else failed, at least worth trying.

Thanks for your advice. It's the Chamberlain's which came last night, waiting on Saphir to arrive:(. Even though I gave it a scrub with cleaner, it's been regurgitating the Chamberlain's in some areas and it has another white crusty look to it right now, and feels a bit rubbery.

I'm to blame - I was rightfully heavy-handed with the super dry Court but I got too excited and went at the casino with the same energy when it probably only needed maybe a few thin coats! Needless to say, I'm not filled with confidence from my first rehab attempt! It's gone south since they dried after dunking but I'm hoping redunking will help this situation.

Good thing vintage Coach bag is fairly tough, as long as it is structurally sound, it can handle another dunk no problem.
Forgot to mention it last time, another brand I think can substitute CPR is "chemical guys" leather conditioner. Still CPR is better as it is cosmetic grade.

Thank you xx. I just cleaned the whiteness off again and it's feeling a little better though my judgment is warped now. If it regurgitates again I'll give up and give it a bath and some washing up liquid and be patient thereafter.

I'm lucky my two new casinos and thrifted metropolis zip are with family in the US, forcing me to wait till I get there, buy CPR and have learned from this experience.

Yeah, cpr worth waiting for. At next dunk, it is better to start conditioning while bag is still damp.

Yes, it was so frustrating that the sun was so quickly drying the bags and the conditioner hadn't arrived yet! I was so close to just using the super old Timberland conditioner that has sat around the house, ha.

I'm comparing it to the court and the pores are still white and saturated so I think I'm going to go ahead and redunk, sadly... lesson learned! Hopefully it'll clear the leather out.

When your Saphir balm arrives, you can use it on your Court as well, I think you will like it.
