I bought some Renapur I have seen discussed here. Can someone please give me be a brief explanation of how and when to/not to use it ? I just don't want to use it the wrong way, or on the wrong bag. Thanks
A lot of us use it as a finisher, so you use it after you’ve completed your rehab (dunk & cpr) as a final step. Apply a light coat with the sponge provided & then buff (horse hair brush or a cloth- depending on what you prefer). If you accidentally apply too much, you can wipe off the excess. It won’t change the colour of your bags so don’t be afraid to use it (except on suede). Also, if you notice the bag is a bit dry, you can do more applications. I like to space mine out a day or two apart. For maintenance, I like to condition my bags every 6-8 weeks. You can condition as often as you’d like. Hope this helps
To add to Coachaddict4020's informative post... I have recently started heating the Renapur with a hairdryer while it is on the sponge, then very carefully run the warm air over the leather. I let the bag sit for several days, running the warm hairdryer over it periodically, and allow the Renapur to be absorbed over time. Buffing with a soft cloth and horse or goats hair brush as the final step gives a glorious end result.

I only have Renapur right now as I can't get CPR or BR to the UK but I intend to get them at some point so I can start rehabbing my little pile.

Do you guys use BR and Renapur interchangeably or have you ever used both for one bag? I've read on here both being used as finishers so wondering how you guys decide which gets used for which rehab, haha.

So far Ive only used Renapur as a finisher but I do have BR thanks to @LunaSilver finding a store in Canada that was selling it with a reasonable shipping cost. I haven’t used it yet, so Id like to know how others decide which one to use as well lol

Hello I am new here. I just bought an older Coach bag and have a canvas/twill duffle or bucket bag (Style 9176). Because it is canvas/twill, I would like to waterproof it and prevent it from being stained by clothing and I was thinking of something like Scotchguard. Do you think this will be okay or will it damage the bag?

I have attached a picture of what my bag looks like (not my exact bag but the same one)

BR is more difficult to get in Canada, so I stick with Leather CPR (starting immediately after the dunk), and finish with Renapur.

I just saw that @Coachaddict4020 gets it through @LunaSilver's recommendation! Could you please share the info?

YAY! Just ordered some! Now to find out when and why to use it instead of Renapur. :hugs:

I used both, but don’t find too much difference. Maybe just Renapur has slightly more sheen, and Black Rock Color is slightly deeper. So if a bag has stain marks, Black Rock helps to disguise it better than Renapur. IMO they can substitute each other.

I think you can get them from eBay via global shipping program, just the cost of shipping and duty will be expensive. I used both Renapur and Bkack Rock, in my opinion they can substitute each other, but leather CPR is most important to bag rehab, if you can get the large refill jug.

Thank you for your advice. Yes, not yet having Leather CPR is why my bags are piling up but staying where they are right now :( ! If all goes as planned, I'll be visiting the states in the summer so I'll try to buy CPR and BR there and bring them back to the UK in a checked-in bag. Need to check luggage rules though. Do you have any other product recommendations I should try to pick up when I'm there?

Many thanks xx

I prefer BR.

Scotchguard should be fine for the canvas. I really don't know what it will do to the leather. Remove the strap and possibly tape up the leather corners before spraying.

You are welcome.
Maybe "Cape cod polishing cloth" for clean up brass hardware, and some spare brass turn locks from "buckleguy.com". Some times the prong of turn lock breaks when removing it from bag to clean verdigris underneath.
More opinions welcome.
