I just received my mahogany? Patricia. She is in great shape and so soft, my first bag from Mexico. But I want to get out the crease on the flap- so I need to dunk the whole bag, or would it be possible to just dunk the flap, or would it be unevenly colored then. Would steaming be the best option? Any help is so appreciated!
I think you would have to dunk the whole bag to keep from getting a water mark. You could try ironing the flap under a presscloth.

The end result of my City Spectator Bag rehab. I have gone as far as I dare with this bag. I think I have removed almost all of the shoe polish, and the feel of the leather is much improved. No more stiffness or waxy feel. It is not a perfect bag but it looks like a 30 year old bag probably should look. I would carry it now, I just need to find a replacement turnlock for a good price.

looks great.

Anyway, I jumped on here because I'm so excited about this bag I just got!! It's burgundy! It's a NY bag too. Can't wait to rehab it!
Just finished these 2 burgundy (Merlot? Oxblood?) beauties! The Basic bag had a small tear in the piping. I just glued it closed. Thinking about paint, but it doesn't look too bad at all... I'll probably just leave it. There's nothing I can do (that I know of anyway) for the wear on the buckles since they're not solid brass. I don't mind though.

The other bag looks new. Pretty awesome for a NY bag I'm satisfied! Lol

Hmmm... My pictures didn't upload. It said it's a problem with the site. Weird. I'll try again later!

Finished my “I thought it was rust but it was actually BT” Dinky! The only thing I couldn’t fix was the dark mark across the front flap. It’s not too bad so I don’t think Im gonna cover it up with patches or anything. If it gets worse overtime, Ill probably dye the entire bag a darker colour. I also didn’t polish the hardware so maybe don’t zoom in too close... lol

I finished up on this pair today. The conditioner is still slightly sticky but I wanted to add a picture anyway. I purchased a new dinky chain from America to add to my court. It's not immaculate, but I am really pleased with how it came out nonetheless. The regina's scuffs on the piping are barely visible now and I am so pleased.

As for my rambler's legacy bag, I bottled removing the hardware but I attacked it with 0000 grade wire wool and then some brasso and a rag and I was finally able to remove the discoloured finish!! Thank you so much everyone for the advice! I accidentally smeared some brasso on the front flap but I have a leather brush that I use when dunking so that should get it out. All I need is some vinegar to get the smell out and I'll have another wearable bag!

The other one is a saddle pouch #9590. I couldn't remember the name, haha. It just came to me.
Pictures are working now. Yay! Here they are
