I finished up on this pair today. The conditioner is still slightly sticky but I wanted to add a picture anyway. I purchased a new dinky chain from America to add to my court. It's not immaculate, but I am really pleased with how it came out nonetheless. The regina's scuffs on the piping are barely visible now and I am so pleased.

As for my rambler's legacy bag, I bottled removing the hardware but I attacked it with 0000 grade wire wool and then some brasso and a rag and I was finally able to remove the discoloured finish!! Thank you so much everyone for the advice! I accidentally smeared some brasso on the front flap but I have a leather brush that I use when dunking so that should get it out. All I need is some vinegar to get the smell out and I'll have another wearable bag!

They are beautiful! Both my favorite styles

Finished my “I thought it was rust but it was actually BT” Dinky! The only thing I couldn’t fix was the dark mark across the front flap. It’s not too bad so I don’t think Im gonna cover it up with patches or anything. If it gets worse overtime, Ill probably dye the entire bag a darker colour. I also didn’t polish the hardware so maybe don’t zoom in too close... lol

Looks fabulous!

I bought some Renapur I have seen discussed here. Can someone please give me be a brief explanation of how and when to/not to use it ? I just don't want to use it the wrong way, or on the wrong bag. Thanks

A lot of us use it as a finisher, so you use it after you’ve completed your rehab (dunk & cpr) as a final step. Apply a light coat with the sponge provided & then buff (horse hair brush or a cloth- depending on what you prefer). If you accidentally apply too much, you can wipe off the excess. It won’t change the colour of your bags so don’t be afraid to use it (except on suede). Also, if you notice the bag is a bit dry, you can do more applications. I like to space mine out a day or two apart. For maintenance, I like to condition my bags every 6-8 weeks. You can condition as often as you’d like. Hope this helps :)

Hello! Not sure if you all can help, but Help!! I took a coach purse out of storage today and needed to dust it off, so I got a microfiber cloth with just water and wiped the outside down and the zippers/pulls. After it dried i ended up with this staining that initially seem oily but its now hard. Like a glue seeped through but not sure at all. So wierd!!! Does anyone know how to fix this. I've had it for 8 years and I love this bag.

I've seen that around zippers. It does seem like glue. I've never been successful at cleaning it. Is there any staining on the exterior?

To add to Coachaddict4020's informative post... I have recently started heating the Renapur with a hairdryer while it is on the sponge, then very carefully run the warm air over the leather. I let the bag sit for several days, running the warm hairdryer over it periodically, and allow the Renapur to be absorbed over time. Buffing with a soft cloth and horse or goats hair brush as the final step gives a glorious end result.

Pictures are working now. Yay! Here they are

Oohhh beautiful burgundy! Your corner repair looks great.

Also - BAG TWINS! I finished a burgundy basic bag (without a strap) recently, and just bought a burgundy saddle pouch.

Echoing a convo from the Vintage Chat thread earlier this week...I lost my burgundy basic bag for about a week. My 3 year old decided it was hers and stole it, haha. I managed to get it back by moving her play “phone” and crayons and the notepad she also stole into a different/beat up/mahogany basic bag I bought as a project bag last year. So...she still has a vintage Coach. Lol.

ETA: I love old basic bags, I find the shape super satisfying in lovely old leather. I carry them as a clutch or as a smaller purse inside a larger work bag like a giant tote, so I don’t mind ones with missing straps!

I love them too; they're great for everyday quick trips, fit all the necessities perfectly. I have 3 now, haha, brown, black, and my new burgundy. I'm in love with burgundy right now too.
