I’ve got myself a black Prairie for cheap locally. I really wanted a bottle green Prairie (of course) but couldn’t resist the deal. It’s got a tiny hole though on the crease of the flap. @Lucyblue13 did you leather glue your Station’s hole? I think that’s what happened, but hard to keep track with young kids around. Lol the piping on this is really bad so I guess good thing the acrylic paint is handy to have.

Looking forward to seeing the rehab!

Fiebings leather cement. I bought Aleene's leather and suede glue, but havent used it on anything. They honestly seem to be about the same. They both look like white school glue.

I got leather glue from Tandy. It does look just like regular white school glue. So you glued it then touched it up with acrylic paint after?

Yes. But I was not happy at all with it. Then I used it as my botw, and the top of the hole didn't stay closed. Just a tiny bit opened back up. It is right where the flap bends, so a high wear area. I used an earring I don't have a match to(didn't have toothpicks,) and made sure to get in under the leather as much as I could. Then I put a thin layer on top. Guess I didn't get it under there good enough, or didn't let it sit long enough before use. So the other day I removed the paint gently with a qtip and acetone, and used the earring post to put more cement under the tiny hole. Put more on top. If it doesn't hold now, it's just not going to hold. Going to paint it with the Saphir Medium Brown tonight to see if it is a better match than I could come up with mixing the acrylics.

Sounds good! Thanks for the tip. I’ll try to get in there with the glue as much as possible and maybe put a heavy book on it as it dries.

Great! A trip to Dollarama tomorrow it is then

Saphir looks good too but I only got the large Plaza and Station in black. Possibly buying a black Prairie, too, if it’s authentic  the touch up shouldn’t take a lot though.
No, it shouldn’t.
The back story was that I had bought a black Plaza large that had a slight bit of fading, even in the pockets, otherwise in very good condition. And a large medium brown tote that was (and is, as it’s in my pile) in need of TLC. So going for the Saphir made sense.
Did you use straight from the jar, or mix with CPR like was advised with acrylic paint?
Dabbed it on, straight out of the container, using a triangle shaped foam cosmetic sponge. Saphir makes several recolorant products. Juvacuir iirc, has conditioner mixed in and is meant to go on right out of the container. I don't think there is any harm in mixing though. And I might have mixed it with Cadillac Supreme when I did the black Plaza. Just to make sure I had enough, which I did and then some.

I repaired a small hole on this Maghony Stewsrdness, same procedure as @Lucyblue13, but slightly different products: shoegoo glue, and straight fabric paint. After paint was dry and cured( 2 month later just to be safe), it was very shiny, I used 2000 grit sandpaper lightly sanded the painted area, so it blended in better.
I am using this black strap for it now, as the original strap is a little short for crossbody. Actually kind of like the color contrast.

That is hardly noticeable. Great job! I’m not sure I can leave a bag alone for 2 months though..:wtf:

Guys eh? I just told him I’m going to the dollar store tomorrow to get some acrylic paint, and boom - he brought out a full set of nice model car paint. Then he finally admitted he hasn’t done model cars since he was in his teens! Lol it’s definitely old paint...
I think model car paint is much shinier than regular acrylic paint. Not sure how that will affect your final result.

Sharing a little rehab fail and seeking guidance - thanks in advance!

I picked up a red version of my favorite wallet (I currently carry this one in navy!) months ago. It was still stiff and felt barely used. I’m more careful now about what I dunk and what I don’t for small leather items...but at the time, on an impulse I threw the red wallet into the sink with some other items and started scrubbing. It bled a lot, but the bigger concern was the discoloring around the kisslock frame as it dried :-/

I’ve dunked kisslock items before and never had this problem - so first question, have others seen staining like this before?

I have red acrylic paint that’s probably a close-enough match if I decide to paint over the stains. But with the amount of action a wallet sees, I’m not sure this will be the best idea to make her pretty again. See the last picture where I painted red over a small section as a test.

Second question - What would you all do? Paint over the stains? Dye the red some darker color all over? Something else?
