Here is the most recent bag rehab. The earlier duffle is in the closet in the room where my son is working from (MY) home. (The food is better here)

I am obsessed with this color. It was not in bad shape to start--some water marks and minor stains that the dunking took out. Also filed out some ink marks on the inside. (saw that in this thread--worked perfectly) This bag is pre-number but not pre-creed. No issues with the rehabView attachment 4728961
Thanks so appreciate the pic!!

I took a chance on a Berkeley Multifunction Purse that was under $20 on eBay because I really wanted a wallet that matched my Berkeley Saddle. I’m amazed how much of the nap came up after a bath and a good brushing!

Now I want to try brushing my Berkeley Saddle more to get more of the nap up on the bottom! I used both a regular suede brush and a honeycomb silicone nubuck brush (that I bought to use on DH’s shoes), and I think that nubuck brush really helped get the really worn parts back up.
It looks great!

Finished rehab the Maghony Rambler's Legacy today. She is a flawed beauty. Many ink marks everywhere which I totally missed from the listing. (Not described and hard to see from photos due to the dark color of bag). I was conflicting return it or not. Not happy with the condition of bag, it also had a small rip of pipping on the strap not disclosed either. But I have a soft spot for Rambler's Legacy (my favorite style), knowing she won't be prestine but I can make her looks better. Return is like I let her down. Well, I settled for a partial refund. Here is before. (Forgot to take photos of ink marks on the sides and flap)

Here is after. If a vintage coach bag has spirit, this Rambler's Legacy spirit is like the first picture.
I spot clean the ink stain with "Grandma's Secret Spot Remover", to get as much ink out as possible before dunk, the rest just regular rehab routine.

Twins...I've got one in Mahogany as well and I love the style too.
Great job

Comments: I included an additional creed photo.
I am sure you took this to the right place  It's always nice to the see that blocky font.

There is part of me that would like to take this on, it would be way out of my rehab comfort zone, but there is another that thinks it would crumble with a touch https://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-Vintage-Brown-Leather-Turnlock-Brass-Crossbody-Shoulder-Bag-Purse/324152634115?_trkparms=aid=111001&algo=REC.SEED&ao=1&asc=225086&meid=2abc26a1aa594a4db44337720a1b9873&pid=100667&rk=2&rkt=8&mehot=none&sd=254507017891&itm=324152634115&pmt=0&noa=1&pg=2334524&brand=Coach&_trksid=p2334524.c100667.m2042

How would even start this? CPR it back to life, then dunk and CPR again?

I did look at this but thought it too much for me...am still looking.
This the large?
I lean toward thinking it is the smaller of the two.

I think the bag is too far gone to revive. Piping split. Years of oil and dirt ground in. Even after rehab it will look beaten and distressed, a look favored by some - but not by me.

If I were up for a challenge and could get it for $20 shipped, I would start with a dunk. I doubt it will crumble. I don't think putting CPR on top of the existing oil and dirt would help much. I'd be somewhat worried about the knotted strap.
I would buy this for $10 at a flea market simply for science! And post here for my fellow researchers.
There's distressed to perfection, and there's distressed . . . .
ETA, okay lol, I need to walk away from this post. But after looking at the pics once more, with the zoom box feature, aside from the split leather on the one corner and ratty strap, it doesn't look much worse that my distressed BT City when I bought it. And I paid $28 shipped for that and do like it conditioned. Don't get me wrong, I am not encouraging anyone to buy it because it does have the split and the ratty strap. I will go on record (as if anyone cares) if it did not have the split piping, the ratty strap and was BT, I'd be in dialogue with the seller trying to get it for $28!!

Great improvement! Nice job on the piping repair on the strap too. Yes, I can see her resemblance to the beautiful model.

I needed a opinion please, I have 2 stewardess bags that need rehabbing, one is a Costa Rica BT that will be easy just needs to unflatten, the other is a NYC orange and I'm afraid it will lose it's beautiful color, but it's so dry and dirty, has anybody rehabbed an orange older bag?View attachment 4728796
A rust NYC Stewardess, in the flesh?? :faint:

I recently rehabbed an NYC “orange” crescent bag and the usual dunk and condition and blackrocks worked fine. The color became more vibrant afterwards too. If it’s very dry, maybe put on a coat or 2 of CPR before dunking?

I rehabbed a beautiful orange NYC bag. It turned red after rehab. It was obviously red before rehab but was so dry that the color had faded to orange. Rehabbing just brought back the color. It was disappointing though since I hoped it was orange.

Lovely.
I have a little pre-registration shoulder bag I bought early in my rehabbing that was squashed flat. I dunked followed by Leather Therapy and BlackRock and it deepened the color nicely. The leather is a bit thinner, maybe because it is a small bag? The strap has some of the wonkiest stitching!
Which COACH bag are you carrying today?

Probably thinner because it is older. Pre-creed and pre-number bags have thinner leather usually.
