My oldest bag is drying now and had two coats of CPR. She is already looking so much better. But...
Cautionary tale: Be careful of these metal tags. I thought I was extremely careful but apparently I was not. I'm a little bummed as this is my first and only metal tag bag, but I don't know that I could've just left her alone looking so stiff and squished. But you can see the before and after of the tag.
I wonder if the water was too hot?
Could be. I used cold water on mine (below room temperature)

Got my Olive one finished but am a bit sad as she has come up with marks like freckles so think she might have had mold at some stage in her life.View attachment 4706294

It looks beautiful, give it time because the marks may fade. I was once disappointed by a red City Bay because some dark marks and flaws showed up after the rehab - but after a few months, I was surprised to see that they had faded and either disappeared or were much less noticeable.

Got this sad Thompson Karee the other day that needs some love. It’s enormous!! Pictured here next to a Soho bag. I can’t imagine what she’s going to weigh wet! Will post updates! To think she retailed for 998$!!!

What a beauty! I've only rehabbed one Thompson, a Julia not a Karee but the color and leather look similar to your bag.

Some of the Thompsons were made of unsealed vachetta leather and probably shouldn't be dunked but @Catbird9 found the details for my bag on the Wayback Machine - and it wasn't vachetta so I took a chance and gave it a bath - it was really dirty, stained, and out of shape.

It came out great but the rehab was a bit scary because it really bled into the water and stained my hands. You can read about the rehab and see pics at the links below.

I love my Thompson Julia, please let us know how your beautiful Karee bag turns out!

I was actually inspired to rescue it after seeing your bags transformation!

Hi everyone ! I rehabbed my hippie about a year ago. I got her out of her dust bag today and noticed that she has white spots on her . I carried it today and it seems to be getting worse . Any ideas what this may be ? Thanks a lot ! D623CCD3-AA9E-4597-8D2F-CF8E635E1F40.jpeg
