Getting a little concerned about my Zip. These marks have appeared where there was nothing previously...the larger ones in the middle yes but these smaller spots weren't. It's all on dryish leather. The bag was put in an airy place too.20200406_152503.jpg

Yes it scares me.. It looks like it will talk apart in the bath. But someone here had a very beat up mahogany bag come back in color ( can't remember who or what bag it was. Rambler's legacy maybe?) So basically I am hollering at that rehabber to rescue this!
Um, I rehabbed a mahogany Rambler's Legacy at the end of January? I just clicked the link, its not available.
ETA: It was relisted and wowser that one is in rough shape!!

I finished three projects over the weekend!

I was inspired by @Punkkitten to take off the attached strap to my Quincy and add rings.

I found the Ergo XL Tote on eBay for $25! It was so low because the turnlock was broken. I bought an XL turnlock on Amazon, ripped through a part of the inside lining of the tote, replaced just the male piece, then sewed the lining back. It’s a little bit smaller than the original part, but it works!

The little wallet clutch is for my mom and only needed a cleaning and conditioning. It’s so cute, I kind of want to get one for myself!

The good news I am thrilled , if not stalled a little, with how the Letter Brief came out thus far. Will do before and after a when completed.
Help me out, what was I thinking, what was I thinking, when I bid on the Buckle Bag?? Oh that’s right, maybe I wasn’t thinking. I was blinded by the shiny buckles?? Maybe? Well, it is a great size bag. And it’s little friend with the brass it a bit of a consolation. So if you need to commiserate on a purchase . . .
Oh BT, you drive me insane!
Don’t despair, you might be pleasantly surprised once you dunk it. The browns are very forgiving on rehabs.

I didn’t take pictures as my coworkers kept texting (not my fault they are bored and don’t have a bag to rehab), but the green Crosby got a dunk while I “worked” from home. For a bag that looked clean and is GREEN, the water looked like I had dunked a tabac bag. Yuck! Plenty of Dawn and vinegar went into this.

Typically I hang rehabs outside or in the garage, but the Crosby is so much bigger than my other projects I fear stretching the tabs if I hang it so wet. Right now it’s sitting in the bath tub.

My red pocket purse has me annoyed. I spent 65 plus 8 for shipping. I have cleaned it and this is the second day of conditioning. I have done the purse and strap. I’m beginning to notice the strap is a darker red and the pocket purse is a brighter red. I don’t think the strap is the original. I asked the seller, but she said it was. This may explain the 10 inch difference in strap length compared to my three other bags. :annoyed::annoyed::annoyed::annoyed:

Ugh that's annoying. However, I would suggest you to embrace the difference in color (not if the length doesn't work for you) and find/borrow a hang tag that matches the strap and rock a two tone look! Just an idea.. hopefully it lessens your annoyance with the difference. :flowers:

First and foremost, so happy to hear about your mom!

Thank you! Your suggestion is a great one. It made me think of the cherry Cassie with the two tone pinks. The strap length is actually a good one. I think the realization that I may have been duped is what bothered me, but I’m going to maintain a positive outlook and enjoy the purse.

There was an option at one time to get the strap in either 44" or 36" lengths. The color difference is possible because of different dye lots.

Hello! I'm new to rehabbing Vintage Coach bags and was wondering if theres any YouTube videos you could recommend for me to watch? I have a flap bag that has verdigris around the lock. I'd like to remove the lock and clean/polish as well. Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the info. I had no clue. Hahaha, I didn’t purchase another bag because it was 36” and that was way too short for my frame, but I didn’t realize it came in two lengths. This strap is 55” long. All my others are 44”.
