Hello everyone, I'm contemplating this bag, the overall look doesn't phase me, I like a vintage bag to be worn/imperfect, but am wondering if there is any way to rescue the edges. It looks like it's torn/peeled at the very bottom corners. Here are some pics to show the area. I've read about people using acrylic craft paint on edges, but is that just to recolor? Is there a product people have used to sort of fill in and reshape a completely split/peeled edge? Thanks all!

Well, I bought the Skinny Tote, gave her a bath, many coats of CPR and a coat of Blackrocks. She is just lovely. Well worn, but still a lot of life in her yet.

Three things I'm hoping you folks can help me with:

First, she seems to have been British Tan. I'm going to try to cement and puffy paint the edges shown. Does anyone recommend a particular brand or color/color-mix of paint to try?

Second, what about these balls? Is the brass coating just worn away or is there some remedy to bring them back to brassiness?

Third, based on the creed, when was she made? The glued in serial is long gone, just wondering if I can get a rough age for her.

Thanks for any advice!

She looks a million times better after rehab!

The plating is worn off the kisslock balls and there is no good way to repair that - not that I've found, anyway. I have used a product called Rub n Buff to replace lost plating on Coach jewelry (see the link below) and it worked well, but I don't think it would hold up very long on a kisslock mechanism that gets so much wear - but you could try it.

Looks great. It was probably made between 1978-1983.

My idea of a friday night, watching Live PD with my dog, and putting conditioner some cpr on my new purple sling. Lol. I didnt dunk it as the condition was good and there was no smells, but I did put 2 coats of leather cpr on her and she is looking really good! A lot softer and the color is much richer

It's not a coach bag, but I know you ladies can do miracles so I'm hoping for some sage advice. I don't have the bag on hand right now, but when I do, I'll take more photos
Tell us the brand. Some brands react better than others to rehabbing. And also tell us what the lining is made of. Some brands like Fendi, Gucci, and Dooney sometimes used linings that disintegrated over time.

A dozen coats of CPR is a lot of coats! I'm wondering what is preventing it from penetrating and softening the bag. Possibly the bag had shoe polish or some kind of refinisher on it?

Regarding the Blackrock, it sounds like it's sitting on top rather than penetrating.

Here are the instructions from the Blackrock jar:

"Using fingertips, apply a very small amount of Blackrock evenly, allowing it to permeate entire article. Take a paper towel and rub entire article, lifting out dirt and excess Blackrock. Buff with a polishing brush & shine cloth for high luster.

Before applying Blackrock, I let the bag dry completely between CPR coats, and brush with a horsehair brush between coats. After applying Blackrock, I don't usually wipe it with a paper towel, I just let it sit overnight. If it still feel a little tacky I wipe it with a microfiber cloth and then brush.

I'm still happy with Blackrock, but when I use up the rest of this jar, I'm going to try Renapur.

ETA: If I can find it! It seems to be disappearing at an alarming rate!
I have a bag like that, also a Station. I initially doubted its authenticity because the leather quality just wasn’t there, but the creed was good. I guess not all leather lots were perfect and/or some did not age well.
