I would use fabric puff paint. You can smooth it with your finger to get a neat edge.I would appreciate your input if you can spear a minute.
How could I improve the edges of this vintage strap? I have used Edgekote on newer bags, but it is not the same here.
TIA
Thank you whateve, I can try that. It is even scratchy right now.I would use fabric puff paint. You can smooth it with your finger to get a neat edge.
Don't know how but what you said just reminded me the song "house of the rising sun" ..Oh mother tell your children, not to do what I have done...Coming today to share a total "disaster" experience, in case that if helps you to avoid it in the future.
I got this Saffiano makeup case in a very pretty purple color for $10, the outside looking brand new but in the inside like the make up had exploded over and over, the whole liner looked like an abstract painting full of colors, not an inch free.
No big deal as I have cleaned liners that were totally gross (thanks to you ladies and your tips), I tackled it with my usual products, nothing working... so I decided to use some Spray and Wash and give it a quick bath with Dawn.
After rubbing still nothing changed, those stains are there to stay, so I rinsed and dried the outside gently with a clean cloth and I notice all this kind of shinning tiny specks, I say... wow! I guess it was full of glitter inside. But no is not glitter, is like a coating that was on the saffiano that is peeling now.
Well.. $10, but ladies... do not do what I did, LOL
That is one of my all time favorite songs. Now it is stuck in my head, thank you.Don't know how but what you said just reminded me the song "house of the rising sun" ..Oh mother tell your children, not to do what I have done...
Looks great so far.Have started on the pocket bag today...will be interesting to see how this one goes.View attachment 4675989 View attachment 4675990 View attachment 4675991

I didn't use Blackrocks at first either but once I used it on a red Court then I started putting it on almost everything. Now I wanna try Renapur but it's the same thing, I'm too scared to try it but I already know I'm gonna like it.I have a really simple dunk process. Warm water with Dawn and some white vinegar. Usually 30 minutes for wash and 30 minutes for rinse in lukewarm water. I don’t pre-treat. I just rely on the dunking to loosen dirt or whatever is on the bag. If the purse is in decent condition, I won’t use a brush to scrub the purse. I may use a soft cloth and more dawn if there are lots of stains. I towel dry, stuff, and hang outside to partly dry before I use conditioner. I use Leather CPR 2-3 times.. I don’t feel confident enough yet to use Obenauf, Black Rocks or other heavier conditioners. I’m still getting comfy with the basic process to take it to that next level.
