Thanks for the reply! I wrote too soon, it turns out. The turnlocks are loose on both, but I did not check the second one before typing. Its turnlock IS sewn through both pieces of leather, thus accessible.

I didn't bother authenticating here b/c the pic of the first one's stamp did not show it in full; only the middle section. I bought it on Ebay from linda*s***stuff, who has been good with returns, so I don't see a problem sending it back. However, I just glanced at the listing now and they state it's been authenticated by My Poupette, "the world's oldest online authentication service!" I've never heard of My Poupette, btw, so can't comment further on this.

I'll take a pic of the entire creed and upload it later today.

All the tools I use are in that picture. To be honest I use my fingers usually to start getting it back on and finish with that blue tools round head to lay the prongs flat. The Orange tool and the blue one are different versions of panel tools used in car interiors and are what I use to get prongs up. The little orange guy is my newest addition and works awesome! It comes to such a sharp point that I haven’t had to use an exacto blade to start getting prongs up. They’re available on amazon for like 6 bucks a set.

Thanks for posting! Was the turnlock component sandwiched between 2 pieces of leather, though? I don't see how you could've removed and replaced it if it was, because there would not be any access to the back of it because it's the back that's trapped between 2 pieces of leather.

It shouldn't be sandwiched. That makes me worry about the authenticity.

I know. Me, too, now. I checked the briefcase I picked up at the same time and I can see the back of the turnlock. There's no way to replace the turnlock without dismantling the bag, so I'm planning on sending an email to the seller with pics.

I know they'll take it back, but they'll send me a prepaid label that I can't use in Canada, and I don't want to pay shipping out of pocket in case it's a fake--which I suspect it is.

I can authenticate it for you if you post pictures in the AT thread. I wouldn't accuse the seller of a fake until I knew for sure.

Thanks, I'll post pics later tonight or tomorrow after work most likely. I'm not accusing, btw, I'm suspecting and preparing for the worst. ;) Regardless, the bag is going back if I can't fix the turnlock myself.

I'm experimenting with a new technique. One of the NYC bags I did a long time ago has a super soft smooth feel to it. I'm thinking that I did this when I first started using Blackrocks and didn't know to wipe it off right away. So now I'm just wiping it off very lightly. Then after a day, I brush it.
I have never wiped Blackrocks off after massaging it in. I just leave it for a day or two, when the leather no longer feels tacky, and brush.

I posted that 6 1/2 years ago! I haven't been doing it.

I must be heavy-handed because if I don't wipe off blackrocks quickly it gets tacky and sticky and stays that way for quite awhile.
