I started the rehab process today on the Rambler's Legacy that I found last weekend. My rehabs had been pretty minor in the past, this one had a lot of verdigris especially on the strap grommets and the side buckles. I cleaned those suckers pretty well (it's a good thing I have longer finger nails at the moment!) Then I dunked, rinsed, and stuffed it full of towels. (Take a look at that brown water!!!) It's resting comfortably at the moment until I move it to my next location for drying. I'm adding my original before photos too so those that missed it can see. I'll update throughout the next couple of days.

Did you add vinegar to your rinse water? There's a chance the verdigris could return.

Just found this at Goodwill. I’m concerned the scuffs on the front will just darken and become more noticeable with conditioning. Any thoughts from rehabbers who’ve dealt with this?

The bottom corners of a Bleecker Woven Pocket Hobo that I recently rehabbed were faded and worn but they looked much better after a bath, conditioning, and blackrocks; see the before and after pics of the same corner below.

Wow! That's amazing! So, I did decide to get the bag. I'm pretty sure it's authentic, but I'll post it on AT before I cut the tag off. Thanks for the advice, everyone!

Hey guys...has anyone dunked one of these Parker shoulder bag with the gelato finish before? I have to repair one of the false turnlocks that is loose so thought I wou,d clean first.

Good evening to all you experienced rehabbers! I have been eyeing this bag (love the yellow!) and I realize that it would probably benefit from some “refreshing”. Do you think a dunk and conditioning would be enough to clean it up? I have a bottle of Leather CPR on its way - would you suggest anything else? Just trying to decide if it is worth putting in a bid (and dealing with duty fees!) Thanks!

Is that a Scooter Bag 9893? I have one in British Tan and it is a cute little bag but it is very small. Light colored bags can be very challenging to rehab. Giving it a bath and conditioner will help a lot but it may not remove all of the stained areas. If it were very cheap I would say "go for it" but if you have to pay for both the bag and duty - then maybe look for a more promising subject. Just my opinion - it's really cute!

Howdy all, been super busy of lately!
Yes, I dunked the smaller version of the gorgeous pink one that whateve has. I found it in grimy condition at a flea market. I dunked it the way I usually do for classic vintage Coach. However since the leather is thinner, I was lighter handed with CPR and it only needed maybe 2 apps. I think I posted it here.
ETA, I have admired yours and when I browsed the Parker thread, I believe yours is called Cinnamon!

Yes it is a scooter bag, and thank you, katev, for the input! Even just giving me an idea about the size is helpful - I find it so hard to judge even with the mannequin model photos. And I was indeed worried about how well those stains would come out. I think I should take it as a sign to move on when the cost of shipping plus duty would likely be more than the cost of the bag itself!
I will just have to keep searching for my yellow bag...

@BeenBurned once gave me some very helpful advice about judging the size of the bag on an online auction. She told me to note the dimensions and then draw it out with a ruler on a piece of paper. I've used that method many times and it was very valuable advice!

I made the actual bag out of paper. When i finally got the bag I put it up against my paper bag and it matched perfectly.
I felt a bit weird doing it but it helped a lot.

I was really lucky to find that one at The Salvation Army store for the grand total of NZ$9 .
We have a national holiday on Thursday so I might bite the bullet and give it a dunk.
I was watching a yellow of yours on ebay...was sorely tempted but handbag ban is a must at the moment.
Thank you for the info on your rehab. I feel confident I can do it.
