We will be bag twinsJust would like to share the paint touch up experiment with the Carlyle, the bag had some top color loss, I mixed some red and black folkart acrylic paint, and thinned it with floating medium, then use a very small paint brush to touch up the top of each pebble of leather where the darker color was missing. The end result is not perfect but still significant improvement. It is hard to get the exact shade of color. Pictures are before (from eBay listing) and after .
I do love purple, I really wish they made more styles in that color. All these purple bags are enabling me to realize that I want one. Aubergine calls out to me all of a sudden...
I don’t think it’s worth it to bother. A rare vintage bag in this condition - yes. But this is a newer bag, and I am sure you can find something comparable for under $30 on EBay. Yes, more expensive, but just the cleaning supplies for this one will run you $20 or so. Also, this kind of leather doesn’t lend itself well to restoring.Hi everyone, newbie on all things Coach here..
I was browsing our local online marketplace and saw this bag on sale. It’s selling at about USD7.. but heavily stained in god knows what. The seller herself is not sure what those stains are.
The insides look decent, just the outside leather which was metallic white/gold has brown stains all over. Could they be mold?
Anybody has any idea what the stains could be? And if the bag is salvageable/ worth restoring? If so, how do I restore it?
I would stay away. I don't think this is fixable. That particular sparkle leather is very delicate.Hi everyone, newbie on all things Coach here..

I just ordered a black 11285. What is the difference between it and the 10743? Is the size a little different? They look so similar. BTW, I can wait to get it!Okay, so my smooth white leather XL Ergo is 10744 and my black pebbled leather is 11640.
To anyone considering this style, if you want one that's like a workhorse, I recommend the pebbled leather hands down!

Black bags aren't usually burnished.I think those two styles are the same size, about 10-1/2" x 9-1/2" x 4-1/2". What may be different are the colors available, the type of leather, or the finish on the leather.
Here's the 11285. Its Wayback description says "Nappa" leather and its creed may say "individually burnished," or not.
