I live in New Zealand , our Bed Bath and Beyond does not carry CPR at all. Amazon sellers dont ship to NZ so Ive had to buy direct from the manufacturers site. I get the large refill and it cost me almost NZ $90 to get. Its the shipping the really hurts. Try the site www.cprcleaningproducts.com ..the shipping might not be as much as you think.
I'm wondering if it wouldn't be best for you to visit a local saddlery shop, or cobbler, and ask for advice in choosing local products that suit your needs.

Basically you need a light, creamy conditioner that doesn't alter colour too much and a more waxy, protective conditioner that willadd a bit of glow when buffed. I don't think you need CPR and Blackrocks at all. I'm in Canada and initially bought allllllll the things...but they are costly for me and I think they are suggested because they do work well, but I don't think the rehabbers in the U.S. would necessarily go for them if they weren't cheaper and more available.

That's just my opinion. If you were going to shell out on one item, I would suggest Blackrocks over CPR, as it's the big finisher. Others have been noting success with Renopur (sp) instead of Blackrocks.

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately we don’t have Bed Bath and Beyond in Quebec (and there is no French equivalent) nor do they ship to Quebec :annoyed:
But if Leather CPR is the recommended product I may have to accept the Amazon cost...
Sorry, I replied to the wrong person earlier! Have you tried a local source for a leather conditioner? Try equine or saddlery tack supply, or do you have camping stores like Sail? I think if you ask around you might get a comparable conditioner suggestion :)

Even if you never rehab a bag again you still want to regularly condition your bags to keep them in good condition. If you do end up ever having to dunk a bag, it can take several applications of Leather CPR to quench the bag. The only product I've ever used is Leather CPR, so I can't speak for the other options out there, but I will say that I love Leather CPR (and Blackrocks!) and I think that purchasing the CPR is a good investment in the upkeep of your bags - which are also investments if cared for properly. And you never know, you might come across a cheaply priced rare bag that clearly needs a dunk and if you have the CPR on hand you can go for it.

You make a very good point that a good conditioner is a worthwhile investment for all of my bags. Thanks!

I will definitely take a look at that website - I hadn’t thought to check the manufacturer’s site. Thanks.

I haven’t had a chance to really look around yet but I like your idea of speaking to a local cobbler or saddlery to see what is recommended and available in my area. I think I have done so much shopping online in general that I forget about shopping in person sometimes! :P

Hi Narnanz, I wasn't trying to be rude. So sorry! I was answering you but didn't realize you weren't the originator of the CPR query. So then I answered kittkatt with what seemed like a dismissal of my response to you....

What I should have done is quote both of you. I would love to hear about any alternative moisturizers anyone finds :)

Although when I went to a local leatherworker, he gave me a sample of conditioner that he thought was wonderful but it was nothing special. The thing is, you aren't likely to find a leatherworker that knows anything about dunking leather. When you dunk, you are going to need a heavier duty conditioner than average.

Finished the rehab of my aubergine ramblers legacy! Nothing major since it was in pretty good shape, so just a dunk and condition. The corner color loss is definitely improved, not perfect but the spots no longer jump out. It’s a hard color to photograph and looks black in dim lighting. It looks the most purple in natural daylight. Happy to have a purple rambler!
