hi everyone!
I wanted to ask for advice on this bag-
- nyc
-no strap
-lots of marks but looks intact
-its the cheapest station I can find. View attachment 4602358

question
-nyc bag of this condition- will u dunk? or just steam?
-it would be nice to see if you guys have some of the worst condition bags that you guys bought and how your rehab went. Im always curious how bad would the condition of a coach bag be for rehabbers to stay away ( besides mold and having any tears)

thank you and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

My Pocket Purse in British Tan is a NYC era bag and looked a lot like this when I found it. I dunked, conditioned, conditioned, conditioned, buffed, and used Blackrocks. It came out amazing. The after is in my avatar. I also have photos in this thread about it, before, during and after.

Im pleased with it....but I just cant find any love for the colour.
I put my black top against it and its def navy...but on its own it just looks black.
Sigh...I dont know what it is about black bags. I not a fan of black lining as I can never find anything.
Maybe I was hoping it was more blue and am just disappointed about that.

Looks like the exact colour of the city bag I gave my daughter as I previously mentioned. A very dark navy. She wears it with dark navy blazer etc. Nonetheless, you did a fantastic rehab!

Wow, beautiful job. British tan is the color I'm looking for next. I have too many to work on right now though: a black Willis, Red something like a stewardess, brown pre 1994 messenger ish, off white Court :) There is something wrong with me...

Question for you all. Do you help the drying process? I have a dryer that has a sweater rack. I'm wondering if I can dry my bags using the delicate cycle. I'd stuff them with those plastic air bags so that the heat would expand those while drying to help remove any creases, etc.

Thoughts? Thanks so much.

I don't but that may have to do with my climate. I am in a desert area, so my items dry pretty quickly just being out. I do swap out my towels that I use to stuff them for shaping every so many hours, but otherwise, I use no tricks to speed it up.

I feel you. Wanting a blue bag has stopped me from buying a vintage navy bag on many many occasions.

Personally, I would not do that to a leather bag. I start adding conditioner before the bag is fully dry and I continue to condition at least once per day until the bag doesn't take any more. I would be worried about the leather cracking from being soaked and then dried too fast. I think a fabric bag might be ok though. I live in a humid climate (in summer) and my bags take a couple days to dry. I don't really see a reason to hurry up the process and risk cracking. Just my opinion though!

I took this in more natural lighting (didn’t have time to go into the sun earlier today). Black Court vs. Navy blue Devon

Am I still not seeing it?? I don’t see any blue at all! Maybe a tinge but I think my eyes are trying to see it... or maybe it’s just black! I don’t know but I feel your disappointment about it wishing it was more blue! It’s currently being dunked right now... maybe something will happen to the color in the bath.
