Of course one wants the best bag for there money, if a bag is poorly listed, only a couple of blurry photos missing creed ect. I don't even bother.I do concider myself lucky to live here with such reasonable shipping rates.
I used to send wood that I sourced here in the States to a crafter in New Zealand then we would work out design and other things he would craft and then send the finished product to me.We both came out ahead it safed hugely on shippin cost.

Lol yes I was stating the obvious... just wanted to emphasize that a couple of extra dollars for the bag itself or even shipping hasn’t ever deterred me from buying a bag. As long as it’s reasonable (for me that’s in the USD$20-30 range for the smallish size bags I typically buy).

As someone who has just started selling on eBay, I've also discovered that printing a label through eBay can be a little cheaper, even for Priority Mail. I sent a medium flat rate box yesterday that would usually cost me around $14, but I used an eBay label so it cost around $12. A lot of people buy shipping from Pirate Ship, which offers discounted shipping as well. I haven't tried them yet.

I did also use eBay's Global Shipping Program for the first time yesterday and so far it seems simple enough. The item was breakable so hopefully it makes it to the buyer intact!
I get OCD when packing things I've sold through GSP. Today I sold something. I wrapped in two layers of bubble wrap and then put in a box, then inside a padded envelope.

So true!

There are a few cases where I can save money using a padded envelope vs a box. The weight of the box will sometimes tip the scale into the next weight level (from 2 to 3 lbs, for example). In that case I'd use a padded envelope.
One of my Bleecker large flaps was permanently damaged from shipping in a padded envelope. It would have been the same price if the seller had put it in a box. The seller blamed the post office, never apologized. The strap was crimped. You can see it in this picture. It's the center bag - that's after I fixed it as much as I could. I should have forced a return but I really wanted the bag.

Ah, that's too bad about that strap. I know what you mean. I always feel a little worried using a padded envelope because of that possibility. If I can't put the strap inside the bag, I'm more likely to use a box, even if it costs a little more. Fortunately I've never had a buyer report damage, or received a damaged bag in a padded envelope. (Knock on wood!)

Yikes! I guess the padded envelope only works for smaller bags. The bags that have come to me in padded envelopes are the casino, the Winnie, the basic bags, the large side pack, and the two Devon bags. I can see how this could have easily happened to the side pack!

Well I had been wanted something, anything lol for forever in Periwinkle. I got this Maggie for about $35 shipped. It was incredibly stiff, with some color loss at the top piping a little bit more than the bottom piping. And one section of the strap appeared to have a bit of color loss too. But it was very clean otherwise. You can see the spot of color loss on the strap. I dunked it the other night with a little blue Abbie. I am happy to say that a 10 minute swish in warm water with a little Lexol Cleaner, followed by several apps of CPR have made the leather soft. I applied the CPR to the piping with my finger. I would swear it enhanced the piping a bit.
I want to give it one more app of CPR and then an app of Black rock. And then it can hang with my *Small Bag Collection*
ETA, would love a bag in Periwinkle from the Full grain line that House and whateve have! And that’s a paper towel sticking out of the pocket. It is the last part to dry.

That is a lovely color and it looks great. I always apply CPR and Blackrocks with my hands to rub them in well. It keeps me from wasting product on a rag and I think the warmth makes it absorb better.

Does this crossbody strap from my Fossil purple bag that's a wreck match close enough? When I am wearing it the colors aren't right next to each other. The fabric side matches almost exactly lol. The leather looks like a closer match IRL than the pic.

I ended up bathing the brown one because it had a faint perfume smell. It's turning out great after CPR.
