Hi all

I’d love some advice on a rehab in progress.. sadly I don’t have any before the bath photos.. but I’ve got this prairie bag in british tan that has just got a lot of “patina” ...

I soaked in dawn, lexol and vinegar and then have done 3 coats of cpr, buffing in between...
The scratches on this guy are now essentially black

I just wiped down with some vinegar and did a buff

Attaching photos with some BT friends... this Station specimen got the same treatment but only one coat of CPR

I’m posting some photos after one application of blackrocks approx. 24 hours ago and a quick buff.. the lighting is way different but I think the bottom def looks a lot better.

Hi all. Wanting to get some thoughts on colors / advice on dunking lighter colors ... I have a Devon bag that I think is Stone , the creed stamp has xxx-xxxx format so thinking Stone based on when it’s from

My pocket purse is A9C ... so I think Bone maybe?

I handcleaned the Devon and for some reason am afraid to dunk!

The pocket is smashed and could use a bath just for the reshaping benefits alone... anyone have any opinions on what colors I think these are / tips for soaking a bone bag?

I agree with you on the colors, Stone and Bone.

I've never dunked a lighter color like those two, but others have...maybe they'll chime in.

I am new to this rehabbing business but did have to dunk a bone(?) Devon a few months ago. My bag had significant verdigris so I had to clean that out pretty thoroughly before dunking or it likely would have stained the rest of the bag. So I would say that if your bag is in decent condition to begin with then there should be no problem with dunking... just make sure to use clear soap.

Also, my bag had some interior stains so I used a white vinegar and baking powder paste to try to remove them. I left the paste on overnight, which sort of removed the stain but darkened up the leather some more!

ETA: I’m no expert at this so please wait for others who have more experience to chime in. I just wanted to share my experience.

See the link below for the Men's Canvas Bleecker City Field Bag 70894 that I found at Goodwill yesterday for $10. The bag is intact but very dirty and I know that I will be doing a lot of scrubbing, and it may be making a trip through the washer; but the thick, white, webbed strap may be impossible to clean. Please let me know if you have any suggestions for cleaning this poor bag, thanks!

So @houseof999 sent a link for a sad little yellow regina. I had to jump all over it because I'm having a yellow moment right now, and desperately wanted a yellow regina. I'm super happy with this rehab and thankful for house999 and all you guys, for looking out for each other. :hugs:befores and afters.
