Hi all
I’d love some advice on a rehab in progress.. sadly I don’t have any before the bath photos.. but I’ve got this prairie bag in british tan that has just got a lot of “patina” ...
I soaked in dawn, lexol and vinegar and then have done 3 coats of cpr, buffing in between...
The scratches on this guy are now essentially black
I just wiped down with some vinegar and did a buff
Attaching photos with some BT friends... this Station specimen got the same treatment but only one coat of CPR

BT is a tricky beast. The scratches may or may not fade with time. They are on the back and bottom of the bag where there is the most wear and contact with surfaces that may scratch.Hi all

Embrace the patina! I have 3 Brits I picked up that were like new, 2 with moderate wear that cleaned up nicely, an uber distressed one with a great uber distressed patina and one with heavier wear and a few stains , my most recent rehab, the Plaza, that I am embracing as is.
Perhaps others may have ideas . . .
Agreed, with post by Catbird above.
Go forth and work that Brit! Enjoy. My obvious bias here.Hi Catbird and Lake Effect
Thank you for your replies. I really appreciate it -- you've empowered me with the confidence to just go forward with this guy!
Also, just want to make a general comment of appreciation to all of the folks on this thread who have shared so much knowledge!
I'm in New York and commute from Queens to lower Manhattan & can pop by that popup, I'll stop by next weekend and take some pix and share here.
Yeah, I've managed to get two gold tags this summer but they never did send out the silver one I ordered months ago. Thanks, very interesting!
I wonder if all the replacement turnlocks and hangtags Coach used to send out for free are now going to the restoration shop.
Nice! I love black rehabs. Such a classic bag. Some pics of my Pocket Purse after a bath and three coats of CPR. View attachment 4535149View attachment 4535150
