It is funny how some bags respond immediately and others don't. I know I mentioned I had 2 station bags--one seemed much better than the other. Until I used CPR on them both recently--the one that seemed not as good turned into this beautiful soft leather after one coat of CPR. The other bag, even with multiple coats stayed about the same as it was before. It was fine as it was, I was just curious if it could transform like the other. lolYeah, I gave the pouch a 6th CPR a couple nights ago and it kind of sat on top for longer than it had previously without really soaking in... I think she's as sick of the CPR as I am, so I'll do Blackrock next and call it a day. I've abused her for at least a week now!
It looks so good! Such a difference from before you used the degreaser. Might have to try that stuff out myself.Trying to condition with cpr every few days. Looking better though!
Hi! I found a vintage coach bag (which you guys helped authenticate, thanks so much!) at goodwill but I’m new to this rehabbing thing. There is a stain on the back, not sure what it is- grease? Do you have suggestions on what to do? Should I put corn starch on it?
Haha, yes!! Good to see you here tooIs this the bag that has ink stains on it, too? Not an expert here, but I'd try Leather CPR to see if would dissolve some of the stain. With bags that I can't or don't need to bath, I slather the CPR on with a sponge, leave it for 1-2 minutes, then wipe off the excess.
This looks like a gorgeous color. Did you find out if it's mold? I can't wait to see it when you're done!I picked up a burgundy convertible clutch! It’s the most beautiful color and I really like the size of it, it feels very Lady like. Sadly I found what I think is mold on the underside of the flip out pocket. Boo. I’ll be searching through the thread to find some remedies. I’m assuming I should pretreat before dunking.

I have to say, that Degreaser product is amazing. When I saw your bag, post app O Oil, I cried a little. I did not harbor much hope for the beautiful yellow to return. But, Shazammm. Money well spent if you ask me!!Trying to condition with cpr every few days. Looking better though!
Thank you @Lake Effect I think that leather degreaser is amazing! I really himmed and hawed over buying it. I had tried so many things at that point but it worked! It did leave a slight watermark (I didn't follow directions) but it's better then what it was. Lol. It works on suede too! I actually finished one can bought another!I have to say, that Degreaser product is amazing. When I saw your bag, post app O Oil, I cried a little. I spent some time looking at the product online. I am ready to order some just to have on hand. It seems it was developed for car seat leather and leather furniture for exposure to oil from skin and hair contact. The handles on my BT Bancroft are getting a little darker from use. I am thinking of trying it on that. And a little red Basic bag I over did with O Oil a few years ago.
Well done,
Edited to add, and get this, the product is recommended for, are you ready, Nubuc!Yes, you read correctly, nubuc.
Is the watermark seen here??Trying to condition with cpr every few days. Looking better though!
Eeeeever so slightly by the turlock, everytime I condition it it gets lighter. This pic below is the first night pic.Is the watermark seen here??
Oops, in the pic with this post?
No, you can't remove those. Just clean them as best you can with q-tips, toothpicks and paper towels.
I agree with others that removing the turnlock is really the only way to completely clean the verdigris. I also understand your hesitancy. They can be a bit challenging to remove and reinstall. There's nothing wrong with cleaning the turnlock as best you can without removing it.
I think dunking is worth a shot. Use vinegar in the bathwater (not sure how much, a splash maybe?) and stuff her with towels to absorb overnight. I have a feeling that dunking will do more than anything else to help alleviate the smell. I also do a CPR application after the bag is dunked but still a bit damp (technically I do the first application after towel-drying it).
