After being amazed by the great job done with the edge coating, I feel really "subpar" sharing my experience with fixing the worn out corners of this bag, that has a mix of exotic leathers.
Please forgive this newbie at rehabs, if I commited a grave sin by using nail polish, but it really looks better IMHO and I know that if one day I decide to sell it, I would have to disclose it, not soon as I really like it.

This is how it looked first (just one corner, they all looked more or less the same).

This is after (First I used acrylic paint mixed with leather conditioner, and looked great but dull, not shiny like the rest, so I used the clear nail polish, but a very thin barely there coat, that I patted with a paper towel and left the marks, that kinda match the rest).

It looks much better!

An update on my Coach tattersall tote bag. Here are a couple before photos, one thing that's not pictured is the edge kote. The seller did not mention the cracks in the straps and the issues with the edge coat. Here you can see it needs a conditioning and inside is filthy.

Here are the after photos. Not pristine enough to give as a gift which is what I was hoping for, but a decent Improvement. The leather glows on the outside. I basically gave the whole bag a bath in Dawn. I noticed some dye bleed. I scrubbed it down but probably would have been more agressve if I could pull the lining out.
I repaired the edge kote on the D ring area since the leather was beginning to split. I used leather glue and painted it with black Angelus paint. As I mentioned on the other post I have not perfected my Edge kote process so did not attempt to fix the cracking on the straps.
Overall not a bad improvement.
I purchase for 30 shipped and will probably be able to sell it for 35. LOL. My time spent was probably 4 hours and products used for the leather outside our leather CPR and Black Rocks

Looking for some advice on how to deal with this crack on my equestrian flap strap ( say that 5 times fast).

So, I have leather glue - do I repair before dunking the bag? Avoid dunking the straps completely as they can be detached? Repair after dunking but before conditioning so the glue adheres?

TIA!

I usually repair after dunking and before conditioning.

Me too.

Curious, if I have a coach bag where the corners are lightly worn can i use the black shoe sponge to "paint" them? I saw the sponge in store and wasn't sure. I appreciate your help.
Personally I wouldn't. That is shoe polish and it isn't made for purses. You can use conditioner, such as Blackrock Leather n Rich. If that doesn't fix it, you can add a small amount of black acrylic paint to a thin conditioner, such as Apple or Lexol, and use that to paint the corners. The trick is to only use a small amount of paint so the conditioner is just tinted. I've been used fabric puff paint because it has the right amount of gloss for most purses.
