I will have to look up what Lestoil is. Never heard of that one!
It seems harder to find these days but it is in the cleaning aisle of the grocery store or maybe an Ace Hardware Store. Not sure if you are in the US or CN. You can dilute it to clean your floors. I've had grease stains on clothing and dab some of this on and it seems to wash it out. I should consider using Dawn sometime to see how that works but I try not to get grease on my clothes any more! LOL!

Lestoil has a strong odor to it so it may need to be well diluted for the leather but Google can hopefully provide some info. I had an older Coach bag that got a drop of oil on it when I was at the nail salon. You know when they swipe oil on your cuticles and then have you go wash your hands? The drip landed right in the front of my purse! At the time I didn't think it would ever come out and now can't remember what I did with that bag. If I still have it, it is still in another state in storage!

Advice, please! I have this bag I have tried to rehab multiple times and finally gave up. The spots are not coming out and one I made worse.

So, I decided to embellish it with various things including some stickers. I think I’m happy with the placement of everything but can’t decide which of these lightning bolts I like better.

I like the black and white the best. Love it with all the patches! Well done.

Thank you, both! I’ve been waiting for ages for everything to come in so I could try to arrange it all. I’m ready to be done with this already, lol!

I’m also debating whether to take the pin backs off and glue them to the bag or whether to pierce the leather, cut off the points and then cover the back of the entire flap with a leather piece. Any ideas, opinions or suggestions?

I would pierce the leather. In that way if I get bored with the pins I can change it up and give it a different look if I wanted.

Another vote for the black and white lightning bolt here. Looks cool!

I like the first one with white trim the best! The yellow second. That is a great bag for these patches!

I like the first, the black and white one. I guess it is unanimous.

View attachment 4026618 Hello, any advice on this would be great. I’m interested in this, but I don’t know if the “dents” in the leather will come out with a bath and conditioning. Any thoughts?
They might be able to be reduced but probably won't disappear completely. I had a bag with a pretty deep scratch I rehabbed recently and I was amazed how much it seemed to fade with plumping up in the bath.

Aaargh!!! That would kill me!!! Don't they use oil to condition leather? Weird that it would leave a spot. (Clearly I don't know how this works!)

This is really eye-opening, thanks for all this info everyone.
