Another project today, continuing with the leather scraps...my own version of a tea rose charm.

Made this pattern, kinda looks like a clover
Cut the leather (pro tip, try not to cut your finger off like I did, lol)
I had to shave the back of the leather using hub’s hair clippers. It was very hairy! Then I started punching holes for the studs. Here’s the kit I bought:
And here’s the rivet kit I got on eBay:

I “painted” the edges with Fiebing’s Edge Coat and let it dry. Then took apart this old keychain to reuse the gold topper. Punched a hole in the center and threaded the little circle through and then added a jump ring and chain.
Then I wet the leather and used nail polish bottles and a rubber band to shape it while it dried.
All done!
If I do it over, I’ll get a wider variety of stud metal colors.

Thanks, it was a fun project aside from almost severing my thumb clean off...[emoji15][emoji23] I think I’ll try one more with more rivet variety as far as color but all one size. And maybe a pattern rather than a border...the possibilities are endless!

It took forever to get the patch in from China but didn’t take long to do the gluing and cutting. And it was cheap, lol! I have a couple of other ones I’m planning to do next weekend after my thumb recovers.
